Really makes no sense. This staff continues to show NO faith in the playmakers on this team. It just reeks of absolute ineptitude.
There is ineptitude of some sort. Diaco knows it. To barely involve Noel Thomas, according to his own words at the beginning of the season, would make him look stupid. Well, he looks stupid right now.

Not with this OL. If they don't start knocking people off the ball, it will be more of the same. We can't expect the defense to win games next year.
In the pregame, the announcers said Uconn had a clear size/weight advantage up front, it clearly didn't show today. This team still can't play and put together a scoring drive during crunch time.

BS didn't throw the ball well today downfield. The INT and the deep ball to Thomas were both badly underthrown. The second to last play he scrambled out of danger and had a chance to make a big play and threw a duck. Great play to get out of trouble (should have been a sack after we let them walk through unblocked), but ended up with a lousy throw at a time when we had a legitimate chance to make a big play. He threw good short routes to tight ends and the stuff he threw in the flat to Newsome was nice and accurate (to get him in stride). And obviously he was great with his legs.

But yeah - there needed to be some sort of slant, or a reverse, or something to try to get Thomas a shot to make a play. If the vertical throws aren't there, be creative to at least give him a touch or two.

Play calling and clock management are easier to manage from a bar stool. For some reason, people become brain dead when standing on a sideline with headphones.
That's why they get paid millions - I'd expect it from a guy on a barstool.

If we could just be mediocre on offense (going from #118 to #64 in FBS), we'd probably be 9-3.

10 points against a C-USA team with a month of practice? We suck, wish I could get those 3 hrs back.
You the same guy that hates A Christmas Story?

:O

What a disaster this game was. We need a new OC and DC immediately!!!!
The defense played well enough to win most games. UConn doesn't need better coaching, they need better players on offense. This group simply isn't capable of scoring enough points. I wouldn't be surprised if Rose starts at QB at some point next season.
Overall I'd say the team exceeded expectations. They play hard for the entire game have a good group to build around next season.

Bad coaching, bad prep, bad game management...Team did not get better since Houston. Diaco has to do better. Not impressed with anything he brought to the table the last 2 games.

Let's not hang our hat high on the Houston victory. They did not nave their star QB at 100% ability.

The Houston team we beat was not the same one that crushed Navy and Temple.

That being said, you play with the cards dealt so the victory got UConn to post season,

Diaco and his assistants all have had successful careers elsewhere. ,,,,,,, The only thing all UConn coaches, past and present, have failed to bring to the table are a substantial quantity of players that can execute at the highest FBS levels..........how many seasons has it been now that our victories come predominately against FCS teams, or FBS teams with losing records.

Hopefully the depth on offense will be substantially improved next season; particularly at OL. Naturally, they could also use all the talent they can get at skill positions.

BS is not a good passer - it's not more complicated than that. Of course , our offensive scheme stinks.
