Official Bracket Thread

Was there ever a scenario where we would have to face more than one team in the championship game?

;)
Have you ever read the Boneyard? I've learned here the committee hates us so much that they were considering this as a special stipulation only for UConn.

Interesting. I hear u. I kinda feel the exact opposite. It's tough to have to beat juju 2 NCAA tournaments in a row to get to the final 4. Juju and Kiki pretty much matchup with Paige and Sarah. Where Juju has the size and length vs Paige, Kiki has the quickness and experience vs Sarah. But what a redemptive story for Sarah it could be. I also do agree having Azzi back is huge. Still would've preferred Texas as I just don't they they would score enough to beat our team
First off, UConn should blow through their 1st 3 games without much of a problem. If USC makes it to the Elite 8, they will face a much different UConn team than the one they beat in January at XL. We’ll have a healthy Azzi and Aubrey is back. Jana & Ice are both playing better and UConn’s defense is as good as any defense in the country.

Finally, and most importantly, Geno will outcoach Lindsay Gottlieb, just like he did in last year’s Elite 8, when he only used 6 players.

Didn't we play FDU? They're supposed to avoid regular season rematches in the 1st round.
Ahhh ok, forgot about that game.
But then Lehigh to UConn, FDU to Duke, and ArkSt to TCU.

Kentucky's soft. They've lost 5 of their last 8 and I don't think they have the firepower to stay competitive with USC.
Sorry. I forgot to use the sarcasm emoji. There's no one in USC's half of the regional who can slow them down.

It looks like the committee told Dawn Staley:
Bad news: You're not the #1 seed
Good news: You have the easiest bracket & the #1seed has the toughest bracket
Dawn’s currently complaining about not getting the overall #1 on ESPN. It’s not a good look. By the way, didn’t she lose to someone a few weeks ago by 29? ;)

Agree would
Much rather play Texas

Dawn being Dawn. Always gotta be mad about something, always feeling disrespected, always has to spin it as us against the world somehow. It was pretty tough to pull it off when they were just about wire to wire #1 twice recently.

She's gonna be really fired up to go and record another insurance commercial.

You’re right, we did play them. That was just after they played Syracuse.

If Dawn isn't complaining she isn't talking.

Complaining about being overall #2 rather than #1. Come on.

SC has what looks like a pretty easy path to the FF. They won't have to leave the eastern time zone (300+ miles to Birmingham). They play Friday/Sunday before making that trek to Birmingham. I bet SC plays Fri/Sun in Birmingham as well.

I can almost guarantee the E8 game in Spokane 4 will be Monday night (3/31) at 9:30 pm.

Anyone else think South Carolina is pretty much smooth sailing to the championship, unless they play Notre Dame. I kind of don't get it. I almost would've preferred they get the overall number 1 seed, cuz I don't know how they avoid playing USC, UCLA and UConn to get to the championship game.

As a UConn fan, I am glad that a potential rematch with South Carolina can’t happen unless everything is at stake. I didn’t want them to get a rematch in the elite eight. Would have been lame.

Likely yes, but I wouldn’t count out Texas. Everyone seems to be counting them out based on a poor showing in the SEC Championship when they were winded playing their 3rd game in 3 days.

Duke is also a dangerous 2 seed since they can match SC’s athleticism and rain 3s if they get hot.

Has anyone seen the times and TV Channels yet?

And in the semis, against injury-heavy LSU.

So bizarre that they send #15 FDU to TCU and #15 ArkSt to UConn.
It's bizarre that of the two locations for regionals, Spokane and Birmingham, one is close to the Final Four site and one is all the way across the country, as far away as possible. So, as Rebecca noted on air, the two teams that emerge from the Spokane regionals will be at a disadvantage over those that emerge from the Birmingham regionals: they'll have to travel cross-country before the FF, while the other two will have a very short trip to Tampa. What were they thinking????? That's not remotely fair.

It's been like that before. Now there's sufficient time between the regional final and the final 4 that it shouldn't be a big deal.

The team most disadvantaged will be the team that emerges from the Spokane E8 game played on Monday, March 31 at 9:30 or 10 pm. At least the winner from the other Spokane regional will play March 30 and get the extra day to travel.

I predict Spokane 4 E8 will be Monday night at 9:30-10:00.
