Yeah my heart says yes, but you never know.

One thing is sure, there is really no one better than kevin ollie to advise on this decision for a player who is likely a career nba backup at best

He has nba moxie, but his stature and athleticism are probably not quite there to be a starter... I think he would be excellent in euro leagues

Weak draft, his stock is rising, showing he can make a 3 from anywhere.....probably gone.

Hope he stays but if goes keeps the UConn>>NBA pipeline rolling. No reason can't become decent backup, 6th man type.

That said if he stays he becomes a UConn legend.

The one thing that scares me is that its a very weak draft this year. I just read something about this but i forgot where it was, If i find it ill post it...but apparently the 2014 draft is going to be deep. This may urge Shabazz to make the jump now because there is more of a guarantee he will be a high pick. If he comes back next year and improves as a player, its a possibility his draft stock could even go down just because of the depth in 2014.

He's done all he can do. He's already UConn legend. I think he's gone. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah I keep hearing that too, but for me bazz is a second rounder either way, nothing guaranteed. I think he'll come back, get his degree, and help us make a run. That's more fun than the d league

He's never going to be a high draft pick, late first round is the highest he would go. He had an amazing end of the game tonight and has had a great season but he still has several things to work on, last game he had 2 points and was turning it over. I'm confident he knows he has some things to improve and he knows he can do some really special things at UConn next year and be an absolute legend. You also showcase yourself at the end of the year in conference and NCAA tournaments which Shabazz won't be a part of, he's going to want to have that showcase next year.

I think he's gone:

Napier was asked afterwards if he was thinking at all about possibly entering the NBA draft this spring, but he deflected it by keeping the focus on this season.

“As of right now, I’m kind of sad that it’s about to end,” he said. “I think if we were able to get to the tournament, I think this team would make a crazy run. We’re so together. I think the NCAA tournament is missing a great team.”

I'm in support of him going if he's going to be in the lottery. The problems: new rules make it impossible to test your draft stock.

I'd like him and Boat to come back, and go out in a blaze of glory. But something tells me we're not getting that.

I think there is zero chance he goes in the lottery in this or any draft. The question is whether he goes in the first round and gets guaranteed money. Based on all the projections of this being a weak draft and 2014 being a strong one, I think the odds weigh very heavily in favor of him jumping.

I continue to believe that he and Boat are Ollie's two biggest recruits for next season, and that if by some miracle they both stay, we are a legitimate contender if any of the new guys can be even average front court players. Bazz, Boat and Omar would have to be considered one of the best backcourts in the country next season, if not the best. If, as I expect, Bazz leaves, we'll be a middle-of-the-pack team at best imo.

I also am leaning towards him leaving. I just hope the right team will take him.

Leaving would be a mistake. He's not a guaranteed first round pick. If you are not a guaranteed first round pick, you don't come out.

Oh, he should definitely have KO and JC inquire on his draft stock, but he'll be back. 100%

I hope he's guaranteed to go in the first and goes. I love this kid, he's got as much heart as anyone who's put on the uniform and want to see him succeed more than anyone. If he comes back, I'll be happy, but it's great for this program when players leave when they're ready and get guaranteed contracts, and anybody that roots against that is just selfish.

That is good for the program. But not as good as when players come back to school and lead the team on another deep tournament run.

I don't think anybody is rooting against Shabazz. I just don't think there's any guarantee that he goes in the first round.

Unfortunately for Bazz, like Kemba, he's short by NBA standards for a PG. If he comes out this year and have some great workouts, I could see him getting taken somewhere between 15 and 25. If he comes back next year and has a monster year, maybe he can elevate to to 8-13 in the draft.

Kemba had an incredible Jr year and could not crack the top 5 in the draft.
I think most scouts target Bazz as a 1st or 2nd guard off the bench with the potential to contribute 12-20 minutes a night. Over time, he could project to a starting PG.

The best time for him to go might be after this year when his stock is high, but i ope he comes back....it's hard not to like #13.

Andy Katz addressed Bazz and Boatright today: http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebask...6976/3-point-shot-uconn-players-decision-easy Here is a quote from it. "I have no vested interest here but just an observation: Wouldn't they want to return so they could play in the NCAAs in 2014 and challenge for the Big East regular-season title? That's a sure thing. The draft, collecting money and actually contributing in the NBA next season is not."

He still isn't that consistent. Tonight was absolutely lights-out, but he's had some poor games this year. I feel like scouts know that he won't get away with a good amount of the crazy moves/shots he's made in college. I think if he continues shooting lights-out from 3 the rest of the season he's got a good chance though.

When Bazz turns it on, he's amazing, but there were moments last night where he was hurting the team. I wanted KO to give him the hook. He still has these wtf stretches that he needs to work on. Iron those out next year and he'll be in the POY conversation. And please, no more of those fake head jerks, you'll get fined in the NBA for that.

Until he learns to play defense , he will not play in the NBA.
Where was all this talk after the Villanova game? He is just as nerveracking (sp) as he is brilliant. Fickle is as fickle does.
