Just curious, think she will be on court anytime this year? I know she has to get over quarantine, then get in shape and start to learn the system, but will she possibly see any time at all?

Even if she doesn't get a single minute of game time this season, she'll have a headstart on getting acclimated, getting in UConn shape and learning the system and Geno's expectations. It's a good thing.

She'll get some playing time even if it's garbage minutes in blowouts. I dont see her making an impact this year but it'll put her in a better spot to compete for playing time next season. She's in a tough spot to be honest with Williams, Makurat and Griffin returning (possibly Westbrook too) and both Fudd/Ducharme playing similar positions, so any headstart she can get will benefit her going into 2021-22.

If she packed that three ball in her suitcase, Geno might find times to put her out there. You know he'll want to see some good defensive instincts and an ability to not mess up the other 4 by being in the wrong place. Putting a lot on Saylor. As Geno said, we'll see how she practices. My guess we will see her in limited action when UConn has a comfortable lead.

I think she'll see some late-game time, starting as soon as a week or two after she begins practicing, depending on how quickly she picks things up. It's unlikely she'll play in important situations unless she shows something the others don't -- e. g., if nobody else heats up from three and Saylor is able to sink a few.

I'm with the others, too, in thinking she'll benefit immensely next year from the couple of months practicing with the team this year.

Yeah, I think she'll play. I expect that she'll get in not too long after she's eligible. If Geno has any thoughts of playing her against South Carolina, he'll play her in 2-3 games before that. If he thinks she isn't ready, she'll play in the conference games after South Carolina. If she's lagging behind, she'll play in 4th quarters only.

Some posters have said Geno will put her in to makes some 3-pointers. That could happen. But I think he may put her in for defense or rebounding. We'll see.

Predicting that Saylor will make her UCONN debut and play pretty well vs St Johns on February 3, 2021.
Geno said she was quarantined for "10 days from Sunday" and they could have no [physical] contact with her before the 10 days is over. Not sure if Sunday or Monday counts as day one. Let's be optimistic and say that Sunday was day #1. That does just barely make her eligible to join the team on Feb. 3rd, St. John's game day. I just can't picture Geno letting her play after just one shoot around with the team.

Although I'm pretty sure Shea has already been working with her on a virtual basis, she will have just 5 real (non-game-day) practices and 5 "shoot-arounds" as of the Georgetown game on Feb 12th. If she's a real info sponge and has excellent practices, I could see her getting her first minutes at the St John's game on Feb 17th. I think she's behind Autumn on the depth chart until then (at least).

I guess I'm the Dougie Downer here... hope you all are righter than me! Can't wait to see her play.

I don’t think so. The team has been together since the summer and the freshmen (except Paige) are barely getting to understand the offense. The UConn offense isn’t easy to learn

And, fwiw, she has been in the gym since she’s been on campus — per her IG.
OK, that's good news. I wasn't sure if she could use the training facilities before the end of quarantine.

EDIT: Upon further review, I don't see a reference to gym time at Storrs on her IG or Twitter. Link?

depends on how well she practices and how many games UConn manages to play for the rest of the season...........with her shooting skills and good height from the guard position I think she could be helpful off the bench.....

It was on her IG story Wednesday, so it expired after 24 hours. I promise it was there. lol. Just didn’t seem like a talking point before the UT game.

I just can't wait to hear Coach Geno make the statement of "She has to learn the offensive system before she can get minutes" LOL.
As my coach use to tell me back in the day..."Can you run? Yes. Can you hold a basketball? Yes. Go play, young fella. It is basketball. It ain't rocket science" LOL

I think the chance of her getting any minutes before South Carolina is slim, and in that game close to zero. The rest of the big east schedule is where she has to prove herself to be worthy of minutes that count. If so, maybe Geno expands the rotation by one by tournament games. As many others have said, the more likely thing is she gets a valuable head-start on next year, but we can hope for something this year.

I remember that exact number from an old soap commercial. And just like Ivory soap, Saylor floats too!
You guys are old. Alas, I remember 99 and 44/100 too. Yes, I'm kinda old...

I like Anna , but her unwillingness to shoot is alarming. The one shot she took got blocked. She didn't shoot again.
