The more I think about it, you're good. They want to host a party and play with "expensive" toys, and I use quotes because it's not really too expensive, then they run the risk of a guest breaking a toy, whether sober or inebriated. I would make the offer and they would most likely decline, I would think, but either way, it's the gesture that counts. Make the gesture, and if they take you up on it, pilfer his firewood or his liquor cabinet.
