Lawhammercy. It’s October 2nd and we haven’t flipped to a new recruiting thread?!

Y’all know the drill.

UConn recruiting only.
Everything else will disappear into the ether.

Qadence and KK at the Wootten camp this weekend! If I had to speculate, I’m guessing Ashlynn chose to stay at LaLu for their homecoming festivities, and, if that’s the case, I love her a little more for it.

.-.
Let's see ... if we add an Egyptian and a Swede, we could be the new USF! :D

Those who watched the World Cup surely saw that, while the USA may have the most talent, we don't have all the talent. There were some pretty good players in Australia, China, France, etc.

Tilda Trygger 6'6" 198 cm is labeled as a WING Date of birth Feb 12, 2006
She has been followed by South Florida, Ohio State University,
and (?) offers from Michigan State and from Colorado.
The big offer seems to be UCLA per the Scandinavian Sports College (?).
Best game in the FIBA U 18 championships seems to have been againat
Hungry with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Sweden came in 15th out
of 16 teams in the competition. N.B. I am a big Winnie the Pooh fan,
TIlda! Z

Trygger moves well for a 6'6" player.........interesting that her highlights include so many steals........her height and long reach are a problem..........the big question is whether she can shoot.........

Mentioned during the summer, maybe the August thread. She played in the FIBA U18 Euro championships that Jamelle attended. Definitely more comfortable on the perimeter.
Can she shoot at the perimeter? I mean like a guard that she wants to be. A 6'6"er who doesn't want to be inside? I hope this read of her is wrong.

Why did you even suggest that? You know people will run with it. If it’s on the internet it must be true. She European, many of their “bigs” are thought to play on the perimeter. Doesn’t mean she wants to be a guard.

She may not want to be a guard, but if she runs like a guard at 6’6” that would be a revelation. That’s what Stewie brought, and what many hoped to see from Amihere. A mobile big is much more valuable than an immovable tower.

Take out “She may not want to be a guard” that statement is unnecessary with no basis unless I’m wrong and you heard or read that she said it.

I enjoyed the Sweden Estonia Highlights and comments.
I just watched the entire Sweden vs Hungry game: FIBA
U18 Euro Championships ( women ) 2022 from Heraklion, Crete .
As noted previously Tilda had 17 points and 7 rebounds (included some
offensive rebounds that I saw). She was a starter, at 16 yoa, for the U 18 team.
Interesting she did NOT jump center at the start of the game. She played 30 + minutes.
She is slender but with fairly broad shoulders = like ONO. Tilda runs
the floor rather well / gets down court quickly, dribbles rather well, and forces the opposition to
adjust their shots ( and miss ). She made two three pointers, one of which
was a four point play ( but hit only 24.2 % from three point land in the tournament) with a 24.6 % overall shooting percentage. As noted, she passes well: very sharp and quick. She
seems to release her three point shot rather low and was blocked once by
a smaller player!
Interesting she , at times, bring the ball up court and does not
primarily play in the post ( she had to cover, at times, the Hungarian best player,
Janka Gyongyosi, who was a guard, 6' 0", who had 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks.)
The problem was Janka was quick, etc, and no one on the Sweden could
defended her.
Summary: I liked TilDA. She will get better and better. She will
develop physically and has the natural talent that Geno and UCONN could
clearly improve. I see her as a potential blend of ONO and DORKA.
Sweden , as a team, had few good players, seemed to
lack fundamental skills, and were outcoached and beaten by a better
Hungarian team. Time will tell. Love the Height!!!!

I have no idea what she wants. That’s all I meant. But people seem to think she moves like one. I’m taking all that on faith.

@UConnCat: "Definitely more comfortable on the perimeter."

Great scouting report, thanks Z. :) UConn might as well throw their hat in the ring for her services, everyone else will.

a lot of foreign recruits lately .

NIL may also play into this as well. Not sure but there are stipulations for foreign players. Others on here may know the exact details.

In the BioMetal national game she looked a lot like Aaliyah did when she was a senior and played in that game. She runs the court, drives the lane, passes like a guard hits the perimeter jump shot.

Believe it is a reference to Cassandre Propser who recently moved to #1 in the '23 class according to All Star Girls Report.

I had heard of Prosper, but admittedly didn't know much about her. After seeing this video, I like her. A 6'2" forward listed at #11 on Hoopgurlz. Still uncommitted. No doubt a lot of top 50 P5 programs are recruiting her.

I'd think that Kia and Aaliyah would get our Husky-snout in the door.

Not to mention she earned an All Star nod at U17 Worlds this summer:

"While Cassandre Prosper left empty-handed and without a medal with Canada, she gained huge respect for her efforts by sealing the last All-Star Five spot. Her ability to make plays at both ends of the court impressed and she harvested an excellent 14.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.6 steals and 2.4 assists per game."
