When the name comes out we're going to have a lot to chew on.
I hope it's somebody we're familiar with... that has actually had consistent/immediate success in the not so far away past.

This is complete speculation and maybe a little too pie in the sky, but....

Mark Helfrich kind of fits that posting. There hasn't been any buzz about him interviewing for head coaching jobs or even for high level OC jobs. He also deleted his twitter account within the past 24 hours.
Dan Werner does too...good bad or indifferent.

Very interesting, though like you say, pie in sky.

The NFL thing removes Donnie Kirkpatrick and Jeff Quinn.... .. whoever it is it's an old guy, and not one of those two :(

Ten years as an OC?? That's dumb. Anyone who is still kicking around as a coordinator after ten years isn't worth it. I don't want someone who was coaching at Iowa in 1937

Yeah... 45 is ancient. Just for example as someone who would meet the description: Darrell Bevell

I'm not saying he's the one but writing people off based on a job requirement preferred experience is a tad premature.

Anybody think Ken okeefe comes to mind? 10 years oc, ran boring offenses at Iowa. Qualifation states NFL ? Has milford ties

I just want to know whether he could potentially run the program and can spectacularly insulate the offense from BD in the interim.
That dude's been around the FBS ranks for a little while... If we sucked out the gate and Diaco gets the ax I'd ride with him, till the end of the season and see.

Mid to late 40's is not ancient for top level coaches... It's just right for us... the end of the baby boomers meets the millinea....

If he learned a few tricks under Saban than just maybe we give him a quick sniff.. His HC resume is awful though....
To me Locksley is that guy who will always be a good Asst...excellent recruiter...wouldn't call him a excellent OC or QB coach though.

Well I think this puts to bed any Diaco firing speculation.

Hey, at least he realized he needed, and hired, someone with actual OC experience.

No, it doesn't. The job won't be filled before the New Year. Whether HCBD is here or not on 1/2, somebody is going to have to hire a new OC because we already got rid of the old one.

How long does it usually take after a job is posted before an official announcement

Yes it does. If they were hiring a new head coach, the new head coach would be the one to hire a new offensive coordinator. That and a whole new coaching staff.

Did you read what I said? How do you know HCBD has the authority to fill the position?
