Did you read what I said? How do you know HCBD has the authority to fill the position?
BL filing for this job ends at 11:59 pm on 12/26. There is no way that any head coach but Diaco is making this hire. If he was going to be replaced the position wouldn't be even posted. Why would anyone in their right mind take a head coaching job where they have a OC pushed on them?

Don't state jobs have minimum times they must be posted. My gut says choice has been made, req tailored to the preferred candidate. Job posted, will be announced after the min. posting time has expired.

depressing...and we will all get sucked in again by the new shiny object...and Diaco can talk platitudes about hope, love and family and great things coming while the carcass is steaming in the corner. Classic con job.

I bet it's an FCS OC who's had a cup of coffee as a position coach at the FBS level.

Helllll yes. Assistant Head Coach. Thank God. It's the next best thing to firing Diaco

Edit: I think I read this wrong... Unfortunately just looks like a regular assistant

My, how times have changed. It was only a few years ago, Diaco was viewed as the "savior". THE coach that would lead UConn out of the abyss it had fallen into. Fast forward>>>>> Today we have folks standing by, armed with buckets of tar & feathers ready to summarily usher Diaco out of town. There appears to be some unrest in the kingdom.

Matt Limegrover current OL coach at PSU The only thing he doesn't meet criteria wise is the ability to coach QB's and NFL experience. He should be well known by Benedict and Goetz.
When hiring individuals for specific job description requirements, how's CT state law feel about candidates with non-compliant backgrounds, experience, etc.? SWAG, Limegrower may be a DBKG or a RKG (whomever's ultimately calling the shot), but I'd throw a pfennig on him not being the candidate to be hired.

I have no idea...I'm just throwing names out that possibly meet criteria of the job description.

Nothing to see here, we're just a bunch of overachievers that expect perfection. Most fan bases would be perfectly happy with Diaco's results.

A few things I think are pretty safe to assume:

1 - the candidate (he's already been selected, this is just a necessary formality) was selected by DB. Diaco just went along as he had no choice.

2 - we will know who it is by end of business 12/28 if not a day or two sooner.

3 - shy of him resigning, we will have BD as head football coach for at a minimum of ten more months.

4 - there is a very good chance that BD has been instructed to give the new guy full control of the offense. BD's longevity here will depend on how willing he is to comply.

Steve Logan also fits the description pretty well. In fact, he has worked as a football coach 6 out of the last 10 years as that is (coincidentally?) one of the listed requirements. Didn't coach in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016.

Was head coach at East Carolina for 11 years. Was OC at Boston College for 2 years in 2007 and 2008. 49ers QB coach in 2015.

I know it's not probable, but I'm laughing at the idea of Diaco having "his guy" and then Dave wrote him out of the requirements and has a slew of candidates of his own that actually meet the requirements.

Hey, FNDY99 was spot on. I just meandered over here to peek in for a moment. I have no idea what's going on here. I'm just killing time until the women's game starts in 35 minutes (4:00 pm here). We have our own crosses to bear in the women's thread. Carry on.

There's no way. I do hope it was a mutual pick though and I hope they collaborated on the search. I also hope the person has no or limited ties to Diaco.

Yes, crosses to bear. The only heavy lifting on that board is Geno's ring-toting hands.

Another name to keep an eye on: Rob Spence. This past season he was the WR coach at UT-Chattanooga, but the head coach just left for Richmond and UTC just hired a new coach so I would assume he was looking for a new job. Has been OC at a number of places including Clemson, Syracuse, LT, Toledo, Hofstra... NY state native graduated from Iona.

Ten years as an OC?? That's dumb. Anyone who is still kicking around as a coordinator after ten years isn't worth it. I don't want someone who was coaching at Iowa in 1937
6 years... within last 10 years.
Pretty sure that's benedicts addition to ensure Diaco doesn't bring in Verducci 2.0.

Crosses to bear?? The womens board has not had to worry about very much for the last 15 years. LOL

They're probably grabbing their pitchforks over one person refusing to vote UConn #1 in the coaches' poll. Or maybe the coach of the team they're playing next didn't show UConn enough respect during their weekly press conference.
