I hated seeing Cam’s name on that list but I guess it’s expected. I hope there’s still a decent chance that Candle wants to and can retain Cam and other key players from our offense.
 
Really happy and sad for Coach Sammis, sad cause I thought he would step in when Mora ride off into the sunset, guess timing a little off. Happy he got a great spot, Good Luck!

Still hoping we can retain Cam and OL guys.! Big package deal.

It really is wild how clean of a slate Candle is walking into for better or worse. Between the roster and the staff there will be such a clear line of delineation between the two eras.
 
Every player is different but if I were an offensive player, I would much rather follow Sammis to TCU than him to CSU. If you believe you will play. I wonder if Sammis is contacting any recruits and if any of the recruits who committed to CSU want to switch to TCU. I know the two programs are on completely different levels so maybe TCU isn't really an option for them. UConn to CSU and Toledo to UConn are more similar but man, the decision to take the CSU job seems more lame every day. I hope the Aztecs, Broncos, Beavers, and Cougars run that conference.

Congratulations to the coach, well deserved. This is a feather in Mora's cap as well.

Our roster is not full of returning players who would be comfortable knowing they would be getting serious playing time at TCU. Murawski, definitely. Edwards and Chadwick and Cassidy -- maybe. But the competition for playing time at TCU is very different than at UConn.

TCU is an offensive juggernaut and recruits much higher rated recruits than UConn. And, TCU is not a rebuilding situation so I would think no players will follow Sammis to TCU.
 
I think there was a pretty good chance he was going even if Mora stayed. And it is pretty likely that a new head coach is bringing in his own staff in any case. That is the nature of the business. We liked Geordie. He did a great job but the likelihood that he or the DC stayed in under the new coaching change was pretty minimal. Both went to bigger name programs which speaks to their value.

There is no doubt in my mind that Sammis could take over as head coach of the NY Giants and they would be instantly better than the last 4 clowns who have held that position.

With that ownership?... They would find a way to ruin him. Glad he's got a chance to ben OC at a solid big time program. Hoping his trajectory continues up.

I agree. I want an actual OC.

Congrats to Coach Sammis! He did a hell of a job here and knew how to play to the team's offensive strengths. Good luck at TCU.

I want him to do whatever has made him successful so far.

He’s going to likely have a Co-OC and he calls the plays. He is very good at that, Ohio State has tried to hire him in that capacity several times.

Sammis was going to trade up whether Mora stayed or not.
 
Hard to know for sure unless you personally know Sammis but it seems the only way we could have kept him here was to make him our next head coach. Sammis had a great 4 years here and was moving on up in the world of college football coaches.

This era sucks, why wouldn't you wanna play and up your nil interests or even nfl interest by playing against USC. Skipping bowl games especially as a qb does not bode well for your future.

I don't care what agents say but skipping out on games will hurt qbs development. The wrong message is being sent. Is it any coincidence that a 44 year old Phillip Rivers was chosen as a replacement at qb and nearly beat the Seahawks btw.

I agree, Casual Fans and certain agents are making the wrong call. People like hiring employees with good work ethic. Why that is such a novel concept is beyond me .
