Happy for him. He gave us an offense that wasn't offensive, and I can only wish him the best.
No, he went where the coach went, just as the Mora took Brown, Van Auken, Viver, Emanuel, Martinez, and Wimbush, who were UConn recruits. Please stop this line - we just poached Toledo's top recruit. And we return to sender.
Still recovering from Tuesday night's sleep deprivation.Castle?
Will he still be coaching the bowl game?
I hope Candle succeeds wildly at UConn, but I really would prefer an OC. There aren't very many P4 programs that still have their HC do double duty as an OC or DC.Candle likes to call his own plays anyways.
Agreed, but we’ll see. Maybe, he’ll be able to afford an OC he trusts now.I hope Candle succeeds wildly at UConn, but I really would prefer an OC. There aren't very many P4 programs that still have their HC do double duty as an OC or DC.
I'm not quite convinced of this.Well crap. Next year is gonna be ruff.
I hope you're right! New HC, OC, DC and potentially both O and D starting lineups....I'm not quite convinced of this.
Well. It can work…see Kiffin…and Candle at Toledo. Then again…the biggest complaint about Napier at Florida is that he didn’t allow his OC to call plays.I hope Candle succeeds wildly at UConn, but I really would prefer an OC. I’m really not too worried I believe Coach Candle will bring in a coaching staff that will get this team rocking. As he said he will have a product on the field next year that we can all be proud of.I like Sammis but Joe, Skylar and Cam had a lot to do with his success. He was good, but he also had some good players to work with.
It seems like Candle is a good play caller and even if he does empower an OC to run the offense here, he’ll step in if he doesn’t like the job he is doing. I’m really not worried about the offense. I’m more concerned about the defense. We had no D this year and now we need to mostly rebuild it. It will be challenging.
Losing him and Cam in the Portal. 🤦♀️🤦♀️
It really is wild how clean of a slate Candle is walking into for better or worse. Between the roster and the staff there will be such a clear line of delineation between the two eras."don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"
RIP Jim Mora UConn Era.

Our roster is not full of returning players who would be comfortable knowing they would be getting serious playing time at TCU. Murawski, definitely. Edwards and Chadwick and Cassidy -- maybe. But the competition for playing time at TCU is very different than at UConn.Every player is different but if I were an offensive player, I would much rather follow Sammis to TCU than him to CSU. If you believe you will play. I wonder if Sammis is contacting any recruits and if any of the recruits who committed to CSU want to switch to TCU. I know the two programs are on completely different levels so maybe TCU isn't really an option for them. UConn to CSU and Toledo to UConn are more similar but man, the decision to take the CSU job seems more lame every day. I hope the Aztecs, Broncos, Beavers, and Cougars run that conference.
