Just saw something I can't recall ever seeing past Jr. High - two total airball FT attempts (courtesy of WVU's Toby Okani).

Pitt up big, but as usual between these two, chippy game. G. Diaz-Graham already took a 2-stitch cut to the mouth, came right back in.

Really don’t know where Marquette is going to find offense against good teams if Kam can be locked up. Ben Gold is really meh. I have not seen Shaka reload much behind Kolek, Osu and the kid that went first round the year before. They really don’t have many shooters, won’t get much inside and won’t be able to rebound. They feel overrated to me as too many holes.

The Kaufman Renn kid looks much better than I thought. I’ll give painter credit, he does as good a job of developing as anyone.

Freshman Cox for Purdue lighting it up. Insane home crowd. Boilers up by 7. Love this.
Boilers still up 7 with 24 points from Kaufman Renn. Alabama is just missing shots.

Bama has the same problem as last season. Defense. Their offense is getting them to the 2nd weekend alone

Meh. People think Alabama is good offensively because they have a lot of talent and are good at making tough shots. Maybe they shouldn't take so many tough shots. This feels like a team that will get bounced in the Sweet 16.

Purdue beats Bama in impressive fashion.

UConn now likely to take that #2 spot.
Purdue just knocked down 56% from 3....Painter has redesigned the team outside in v Edey out.

Easy to say. Would love to see any team go into Mackey this early in, including the Huskies, and win. Big Cliff felt a bit of an awkward fit tonight, may take some time to figure out how to use him. TKR ate them up in the paint.

Does make you wonder why Hurley never got involved with Cliff.

It seems crazy to be predicting the NCAA tournament in mid November. These teams will be vastly different as they all develop by that time.

I am predicting a Top 4 team will get bounced in the Sweet 16, so I wouldn't say it is easy to say. That said, Alabama's NCAA record is mixed:

2021 - 2 seed Alabama beats two double digit seeds, loses to 11 seed UCLA
2022 - 6 seed Alabama loses to 11 seed ND in the first round.
2023 - 1 seed Alabama beats a 16 and an 8, loses to a 5 in the Sweet 16
2024 - 4 seed Alabama makes Final Four

I have always felt that Oats has one of the biggest payrolls in college basketball but his team takes bad shots and makes just enough mistakes to put themselves at risk of an upset despite having a ton of talent.

The announcers couldn't glow about Sheyer any more than they did.
Puzzling that Scheyer gets portrayed as Coach K 2.0, just because he's at Duke. Following a legend is tough, even with the recruiting advantage that gets handed to you, but eventually the honeymoon wears off.

I'm glad Purdue beat Bama, but in CBS's recap of the game the writer had this LOL-worthy comment to say about Loyer scoring 17: "Just another day at the office for 'Big-game Fletch.'"

Um, what? How quickly they forget the goose egg he put up in the biggest game.

Missed every game last night! Cable and internet went out about 3:15p and didn't come back until after 11:00p.

I'm scouring the web for highlights until the noon games start.

Because Cliff was openly asking for very large bags of cash
I was disappointed we didn't get Cliff initially. Wondering if Tarris overall ceiling higher than Cliff, especially offensively. As he rounds off the edges, he's going to be formidable. Hurley and Moore pounding Defense and Rebounding into him will make him a heck of a package at 5.

Oates is a coach who relies as much on data and analytics as anyone and is tailoring his rosters to match. He’s got a number of new pieces he’s trying to congeal. Last year they peaked in the tourney and gave the huskies easily their best game. It’s not like he picked up a ready to go program at Bama. I’d say 2 S16s and a F4 in last 4 years is pretty good for a guy who picked up a .500 SEC fb school just 5 seasons ago.

he coaches on k philosophies of prostyle offense... despite the fact that the pros are moving to a much more motion based model
