That’s just when the rule came into play that guys had to go to college.Lolz, freshmen college basketball players existed before 2005.
We could’ve used him against New HavenDarius Adams had 16/2/2 with 2 steals against Coppin State. Played 24 minutes. Shot 0-5 from 3 (went 3-4 from 2), but 10-12 from the free throw line. 2nd leading scorer for Maryland

Fwiw, Darius was my favorite player from the class. He was also the worst fit here for this year.Darius Adams had 16/2/2 with 2 steals against Coppin State. Played 24 minutes. Shot 0-5 from 3 (went 3-4 from 2), but 10-12 from the free throw line. 2nd leading scorer for Maryland
I already named a class that had much better players than the 2008 class or the current class. That’s just when the rule came into play that guys had to go to college.
Even though there was a time period before I was born where they always went. But there was also a time where they couldn’t play varsity. Lol
But I’m open to hearing of other freshman classes that played as good as that 08 class did in their freshman year.
I assume the Fab 5 was so popular though because people weren’t used to seeing freshmen playing that well, ever. Could be wrong though.
Again, were they good as that 2008 class as freshmen?I already named a class that had much better players than the 2008 class or the current class.
Diaper Dandy is a made up name for freshmen Dick Vitale thinks are great. There was always great freshmen before 2005 and they actually used to stay in college for several seasons.
Fab 5 was popular for a lot of reasons. They were 5 freshmen 3 of which were stars and they started most games and they were the only team to start 5 freshmen in the national championship game. They were brash, they all wore baggy shorts and black socks. They were seen as cultural icons.
Villanova is a buy game. lolYes these freshmen had great 1st games BUT look who they played = with the exception of Arizona all played UNH type teams - buy games
Y have espn?? Nicechecking out Duke/Texas, espn
Silly argument, some here just like to classify themselves as armchair supreme talent evaluators. This freshmen class is ridiculous.Don't care which freshman class was the best ever. It's enough to say that this one is very good.
Our HOA voted to switch over from cable to fiber - year-long process to install - but one of the best decisions ever, in my opinion and experienceY have espn?? Nice
The other Hurley brother really is a bad coach. I wonder what his major issue is - brought in Sanon & Quantenance last year, nada. Lost Neal to Creighton. He just can't coach.@UCann I'm looking at boxscores this AM... help me out
- #1 Purdue barely made it over the 30-pt win, 80+ pts scored "panic" marks vs. Evansville. Is this enough for Boilermaker fans to step back from the ledge?
- #9 Kentucky beat Nicholls 77-51. Should KY fans be jumping from Rupp's Rafters?
- #10 Tx Tech beat Lindenwood 98-60. Are they a lock for the Final Four?
In other scores to srcutinize:
(Just a little good-natured BY teasing)
- KP#46 Oregon over Hawaii 60-59. Time for a Duck Hunt?
- KP#168 Rice pummeled the D2 College of Biblical Studies 109-38. Good Lord!
- KP#75 Arizona state over Southern Utah 81-64. One pt over the magic 80 mark, but only a 17pt win. Bobby Hurley on the hotseat early?
But then you can't have an inane argument with 611...Don't care which freshman class was the best ever. It's enough to say that this one is very good.
That Chandler dunk last night was impressive for a 6'5" guard.
They all told us Cooper Flagg was a "generational talent" just last year. Now this kid is just as good??? 🙃For example, Darryn Peterson at Kansas is ranked as the top 2025 recruit (by 247Sports) and might be as good as Cooper Flagg in his one year in college. But will we see him on national TV ads that would be worth big bucks? The local Lawrence/Kansas City based businesses can't give him more than what is market for a local ad.
The phrase "generational talent" has been overused but yea he's a bit late to the party on Peterson, scouts have been saying he's a better guard prospect than Anthony Edwards and Cade Cunningham for over a year.Earlier this year I said Peterson might be just as good as Cooper Flagg was for Duke and @alexd called me out for that. It's too early to take a victory lap but he may have to apologize at the end of the season. 😀
