Last two times I've seen San Diego St in big national TV spots they've been destroyed by UNC in the first four elimination game and now tonight the same vs Michigan. Looks like the program is slipping.
All mid majors will slip. It's what makes what Few does so amazing. He's so creative in his recruitment, between international, portal and HS. Dutcher doesn't do that.

Mark Few is truly a genius coach. If not UConn, I hope the Zags finally cut down the nets.

He's a great, great coach. He brings in perfect players for his system, and I know his conference comp isn't the greatest, but he has a career 83% winning percentage. That's approaching Geno levels.

Matt Norlander thinks they can go to the Final Four.

While currently a bit no name, they have depth, length and athletecism in the backcourt. That's not something he's had throughout the years. They're in the discussion. Need to see another game or two.

Man this is disgusting.

8 seasons of college man what is this!!

No, I do not want to root for the guy older than Anthony Edward’s still playing college hoops.
Guess you do not root for Karaban nor JF for football. In today’s era of college revenue sports this is becoming common.

Big 12 all winners so far, Arizona and ASU could give them the sweep. Gee, one more blue chipper would make that conference pure gold
Winners: Baylor, Kansas, Houston, Iowa State, Cinci
Arizona is up 53-23 on Denver at the half. Go ahead and call it
ASU completes the sweep. Texas had a 10 pt lead with just over 7 minutes remaining. Big 12 rocking

If it's players that went to CC or had injuries, I have less of a problem with it. Give them their chance to play their four years at the D-I level. Grant-Foster is a very interesting case, not the least of which is because he was getting NBA Draft buzz a couple of years ago.

What I struggle with are 21-22yos coming over from Europe that have played professional ball for 3 years already (like Uros, though obviously he didn't come over here to play major minutes). The kids coming over at 18 or 19, even if they've been on pro rosters, I'm generally fine with (like Rrezon).

What I can't stomach are guys that have played G League ball coming back to college. In no world should that be allowed.

Karaban is in his 4th season of cbb after redshirting for a semester, Fagnano started playing cfb in 2019, how are those two cases the same? I don't think anyone has an issue with guys playing their normal 4 years, its when you start seeing guys doing 6 years and more where it just starts getting ridiculous.

JF is in his seventh year. He pointed out someone that was 23 years old. Karaban is 23 years old.

I always pull for Gonzaga as long as they are not playing UConn or another Big East team. I hope one day Gonzaga and Mark Few win the NCAAT as long as it's not at UConn's expense.

Quinnipiac is rated around 200. I guess it matters how you define very good. It is just amazing how bad Rutgers and BCU are.
I guess I'm defining "very good" as they were selected first in the MAAC coaches' preseason poll and just picked up a road win over a top 100 team in Pitt. They are very dangerous.

Also, Gonzaga has built such a strong basketball brand. In 1999, they were the out of nowhere lovable Cinderella that knocked off giants and gave #1 UConn all it could take in the Elite 8. They followed that up the next year and advanced to the Sweet 16 after knocking off #2 St. John's, but they were still a Cinderella that got to the NCAAT 2 years in a row. But after making the NCAAT every year and also getting high seeds on some years which resulted in them getting the Elite 8 and then the NCAA title game twice, they are no longer a Cinderella and have not been considered that for a long time now.

In addition to what I wrote above, another thing that helps their brand is they always play tough out of conference opponents, which not only gives them more national exposure, but it gives the necessary high level competition that they did not face in the WCC.

They have played exceptionally well. Pretty amazing them and CCSU are beating ACC and Big 10 teams given disparity in resources.

Reminds me of Auburn last year.
speaking of which, Chad Baker-Mazara is playing for USC. That also means he has returned to Maui from last year's tournament, so he has played back to back tournaments in Maui.

Karaban just turned 23, instead of the normal 22 for a senior, because he repeated 8th grade. Not for academic reasons. He went to a Catholic middle-high school that allowed 8th graders to play on the high school varsity team.

Will be old enough to get kicked off his parents insurance by the end of the season!!!
