Good start for the Big East. Sorry to see the BEast dissolve; for all its shortcomings as a football conference, it's really grown into a monster for basketball. Especially on the women's side, I think all of these programs have made one another better, and have served as a stiff test for UConn heading into the NCAAs.

Miami also won 83-37 over Pan American. Fla State is up over South Florida 26-19 at the half.

I hear from a knowledgable Philly soul that Harry has indeed purposefully
removed some of the brakes on his kids and is encouraging a faster-paced game.
So far....looks good. Rachel Roberts [isn't she from Ct.?]...Devon Kane...and a
frosh from Virginia [Lauren Buford...very good player]...are doing just fine in the new system.
