Nova Goes Down To ……..Creighton!

This puts Creighton squarely back in the NCAA tournament discussion. Lunardi has six Big East teams cleanly in, with DePaul in the first four out. The only other notable out is St. John's.

I thought 15 points in the first half against Baylor was bad and an aberration. But 4 assists against Creighton tells me they maybe aren’t as good as their press clippings

They’ve played this way the entire season. Every time I brought it up I got “it’s nova, they’re always good”. This is who they’ve been. No one should be surprised.

Very early to write teams off. There are going to be a lot of so called upsets in the BE including with us more than likely, especially without Sanogo.
An upset isn’t losing by 20. A game after not breaking 50. It’s becoming a trend. If this were us, almost this entire board would be writing us off.

Maybe the Big East is not as strong as we think - St Bonaventure lost to Virginia tech 86-49, making our win not as impressive. And the Bonnies had Lofton back as well.

Don’t know why this is surprising to see a Big East team beat another Big East team playing away. Villanova‘s shooting struggles aside, the Big East is probably the second best conference with 6 to 7 solid top 50-ish teams. BE proved their strength in out of conference games. Going forward, Big East teams will be beating up against each other.

I don't think anyone said this is who they've been. They play the same style/system they've played for a while but they're much less talented and athletic than in years past

There aren’t going to be any juggernauts going 18-2/19-1 in this league; too many good teams and hostile road games. 15-5/14-6 might honestly get it done for the regular season title.

Nobody is safe, home or away
That’s the way it should be
Again, the officiating was horrid, They did their best to keep Nova in the game.
All this means is Creighton wanted it more than Nova. Nova will keep getting better, Jay Wright will see to it.
Good win for Creighton

Nova has shot badly, until they play us where with defenders draped all over them they will shoot 80% from 3 in the first half. How many times have we seen this? Nova will play great in Feb believe me.

When I said our Auburn win will be our best this year, a lot of posters said I was wrong, it would be (potentially) a win at Nova.

Our Auburn win is going to look a lot more impressive than a (potential) win at Nova come March. Mark it down a second time.

Ryan Hawkins has been a complete surprise. All I knew about him is that as a junior he was the MIAA DPOY, but at Creighton, he has shown he has no holes in his game.

Another surprise is the leap Alex O'Connell has made. After 125 games as a 10ish mpg rotational piece for Duke and last year at Creighton, he's developed into a double-digit scorer and a solid rebounder at the 2/3 spot.

I would like to write them off. Have family in Philly and have been hearing their smack in the last few years has been hard to take. But I agree with Bugsy way too early to write them off but if they lose every game it wouldn't bother me Big East or not.
