They're still a magnet for good players and it's hard to imagine gaining a younger, more in tune with younger players coach is going to be a stumbling block. Not seeing a slide into irrelevance ala tennessee here.

Maybe, maybe not but Tennessee replaced a legend with a long time assistant and former player who could recruit and did recruit many of the players on that team...similarities are striking...No?

Thanks Dillion, but the $10,000 question is "Why did Erin Boley leave?"That has been subject of much conjecture especially since she's from Kentucky so to migrate to Oregon...speculation is a conflict with MM...

Which MM do you mean (stoking the embers... ;) )? All sorts of conjecture on that one, which has remained shut tight. Ones that keep popping up:
- That the experience of spelling Bri Turner in the NCAAs for two games made her sour on the concept of playing in the middle for a whole year while Bri recuperated (this was before Jess Shepard came roaring in to save the paint). and off Erin went rto Oregon to fire away from the perimeter.
- Yes, Boley might've preferred a softer touch than MM, although her position coach was Beth Morgan Cunningham, who was not as "tell it like it is" as Muffet.
- When Boley got to Oregon, she praised the "family" vibe. Some thought this was a crack at the alpha-dog world of Arike and Marina. No doubt those roommates were the fuel supply for the Irish. (Kat Westbeld was the "governor" of the engine, so to speak).

Who knows? She's happier out on the left coast and Irish fans had Jess Shepard for two years, which they'd redo in a second.
