Good to see guys coming back to graduate, even if it won't help the APR.

Seems to me that the pressure will be on whoever is playing the 4 tomorrow for us to stay with a smaller player. And Gates doesn't just stay underneath either. These sorts of games always present an interesting match up issue. Presumably the bigger team has the edge on O, but I think the edge often goes to the smaller team that can wear out the big guys by forcing them to run around more on D.

Nothing new on Ryan Boatright's eligibility, as the NCAA returned from the holiday weekend. "I'm just concerned about this game against Cincinnati," Calhoun said, "that's all I can control."
Andre Drummond said, "we just have to win every game for him until he comes back. It's tough seeing him on the bench, but it makes us want to play harder, to take our frustrations out on the court."
I like the sound of that. An angry Drummond is fun for us and a terror for our opponents.

If we play Roscoe at the 4 (the way most college teams do with 6'8 'tweeners), then we'll be fine. If Calhoun is stubborn and goes with an NBA-style (read: huge) lineup, then we'll have problems like we always do with that sort of matchup.

isnt tony robertson like 52 years old? didnt he play during the sixties? how long does it take to graduate?

The point is that he will Graduate! (How long it takes doesn't really matter. Life isn't a linear road for a lot of people.)

Peace,

John Fryer

Good for Tony. This all helps. But Olander's right heal is still bothering him? From the Sportswriter of the Year?

Actually, we do gain points from Robertson's eventual graduation. I believe we gained points from both Scottie Burell & Donyell Marshall's graduations.

Really, I was under the impression it wouldn't make a difference to the APR, graduation rates perhaps but not APR. I thought yearly APR was solely based on that year and could only be retroactively changed depending on transfers (as in a player transfers to another D1 school and UConn applies for a waiver of the point deducted for said player not coming back). I also thought the four year APR was based on the last 4 years of released yearly APR data. Tony left UConn in '03. What part of the APR calculations am I missing?

It's great TR is finishing up his degree. Glad to hear it.

Somewhere, I read, that points were gained from Donyell & Scottie's graduations. I have no idea how this is done. But, the gist was points get added on when a former player graduates.

I'd take it.

Tony Robertson graduating would not help the APR scores that matter to us. Our bad rolling average score is the result of poor scores posted by the 2009 and 2010 teams. Since Robertson was not a member of those teams, he can't do anything to bring our score up.
