Not a fan of the uniforms

I fervently hope for two things:

1. This is a one-time showing and
2. There isn't a movement at UConn to be sure all teams have to wear unis as ugly as the football team's

Here are the football uniforms unveiled last week.

Agree. Still like the white and blue.

I didn't think they were terrible, but I'd certainly prefer white.

The grey uniforms need to go into the uniform morgue with the silver ones. OTOH, that stylish (and a tad fierce) logo of The UConn Husky looks better every time I see it. GRRR!

I prefer the white too. And the numbers on the darker shade of gray did not "pop". Somehow, I did not mind the color on the football uniforms.
I did like the improvements to the XL Center - the wide open openings to the concourse instead of those shut doors was a big improvement!
My group DID NOT like the music at every stoppage of play. Very annoying; very distracting. Reminded me that I didn't like it at the Sun games either. We were wondering what the team thinks, as it could distract from being able to call something out to a teammate.
We did like the final score of course. And also that Geno was given a lot of opportunities for things to work on in practice.

Nan Im with you. To be blunt theyre ugly uniforms. White with Blue and Red trim. We are Americas team and Red White and Blue....well it doesn't get any better then that.

I am sure glad to hear I'm not the only one that thinks those uni's suck. I can understand trying something new but how do they come to these - of all possible combinations?

They always wear gray at the XL. White at Gampel or the other off-campus sites.

I think last year's unis were gray as well, just a lot lighter. Visually, it was a challenge on that tiny screen, trying to figure out who was who! The color values are too close.

i definitely like the white better, but i do like this grey better than the light grey. The light grey made the uniforms look dirty; at least these look grey.

I don't care if they dress like Emmett Kelly, shoes included, if they continue to play the way they've been playing. Besides, wouldn't it be cool watching MoJet racing down the lane packing the ball like a fullback, clearing the way with this:

I prefer our actual colors: national flag blue and white. I don't mind red or gray as accents. That said, it really doesn't bug me all that much so long as the kids are fired up with them.

The traditional Uconn colors have always been blue and white. Who makes the decisions to change from blue and white whenever they get a whim?.............probably some $$$ involved.

Victory again for the white and blue! Not a fan of the grey either, but how we play wearing them is more important. By the way, our actual color is not "national flag" blue, despite what was echoed on both the men's exhibition broadcast yesterday, and the women's exhibition broadcast today. It's navy blue, Pantone #289, not 281 or 282.

I think the men's football uniforms aren't bad, as well! No issue there. I am less excited about the women's uniforms tonight.

As an outsider - just remember, there are so, so many uglier uniforms out there than I see in the above pictures.

For "in person" WBB - Cal had some mind-bending uniform one of the last few years that had illegible player's names on them. On TV, little is worse than orange playing orange.

In football - Oregon. Maryland, a few years ago. Someone else's helmets, a couple of weeks ago. NFL throwback uniforms. The prison garb that the Steelers were wearing the other day.

So far - knock on wood - neither Rutgers nor Arizona has worn anything too bad that I have seen.

The Steelers wear those every year... not sure which week but they've been around for a few years

This is the new Nike line of team colors - where all the team colors are relegated to minor trim and the main color is some variation of 'platinum' - in other words grey. If I remember correctly for some teams the team color was just axed completely or so minimally used it is hard to find. They were unveiled last winter I think and supposedly all new space age materials and a great honor to be one of the ten or so colleges on the cutting edge of uniform design! But as others have said, it might be an 'honor' best passed on to someone else. Definitely prefer more traditional colors and the home whites!

Yeah - some of the throw back uniforms are pretty nice, others best consigned to old black and white photos! Hate the Steelers and I think the Packers have some really ugly ones too. The Broncos from Sunday were fine, and I don't mind the Patriots ones. For the pro football folks it is an extra revenue stream as the fanatics end up wanting to have one of each style jersey so every throwback uniform increases overall logo merchandise sales - though I can't believe there are that many fanatics that would buy those Pitt ones!

The Uniforms were basically UGLY !! Those that selected them, including Nike, must be on Drugs or emotiionaly limited !
