Northern Kentucky coach cleared of emotional abuse charges

Most players and all staff were supportive of Whitaker and said they did not witness or experience emotional abuse, according to the firm. Some current and former players "vehemently denied any abuse."

Interesting.

As has been touched on in various situations, it is a fine line.

Even in various school settings back in the '70's there was some behavior - by teachers in general, not only in the athletic side - that today might be considered abusive. I will say that in no case do I think the teacher / coach was trying to "abuse" anyone, but by today's standards, at least some of their remarks would not be tolerated today.

As Geno pointed out, it isn't easy.
