But Stanford was in her final group just as SCar was in JuJu's final group. They visited outside their home regions. Dee is staying within a car trip of home. Nothing wrong with it but it is a small surprise in this jet age.

Some kids want to make it easier for family and friends to watch them play in person. I get it.

You're not being fair, I'm sure Dayton would be in this final three if Shauna Green was still there and not 3.5 hours away in Illinois. So, she did expand her range. But also, I think joining Cincinnati would still allow for her to experience the "jet age" going to all the Big 12 schools.

But looks like she will be committing today.

I don't see how 'm being "unfair" to her. I did not criticize her. I merely pointed out that it's somewhat unusual for a prospect of her caliber (HG #6) to limit her final group to a pretty small geographic area. What's "unfair" about that?

Related. If she stays at home at Cincy, it MAY be an indicator of the school's increased prestige in joining a P-4 conference.

If she commits today, I would not expect her choice to be Illinois, but then I am often wrong in guessing what a 17-year-old will choose. If you are a tOSU (CBus??) or Cincy fan, good luck. I like what I have seen of her and she was offered by Dawn,.

I was being sarcastic. Sorry. I forgot to add my "haha" because Illinois, as you said isn't far but I do think she has a good relationship with Green from her time at Dayton, as she seems to be a good recruiter for Ohio.

Committed to Cinci. A huge commitment for that school and coach.

Wow for Cincy and Katrina Merriweather. After finding good players and diamonds in the rough at Wright State and Memphis, she's hit pay dirt here in Cincy by landing a 5-star recruit.

Not going to lie. This is a major shocker.

And I have to agree with my Gamecock brethren, it’s shocking because Alexander is an elite level recruit, meaning she likely could’ve gone anywhere. Not only is she “staying home,” which is great, but she’s also staying home and attending a program that’s not typically a factor on the national stage. I think that’s the point that was trying to be made.

Cincy isn’t chopped liver exactly (especially now that they’re being “elevated” to a P4 league) but this would be akin to a JuJu (or better yet, Kennedy Smith, since they’re similarly ranked) staying near home and going to San Diego State instead of USC or UCLA.

I've been saying the same thing for years. My biggest gripe with WCBB.
I expect it to happen more honestly. While not a huge shift yet i think we will see it with recruits listing their top schools.

I'm interested if anyone on the general board is aware of other offers made to Abii.
Notre Dame has been aware of her for quite some time and offered her in June 2023. She's a tall, rangy guard who could help fill the void left by Sonia Citron who graduates in 2025 (sigh, can't believe I just typed that :()

Anybody else?

One of the more sought-after Class of 2025 forwards is making her choice on Monday, May 6th:

Irish Land 2025 Forward Leah Macy

A trifecta of sorts for the Irish and Coach Niele Ivey; announcing transfers Liatu King, Liza Karlen and, now, Leah Macy within a 24-hour period.

Macy was an Irish focus because Maddy Westbeld (now King and Karlen) will be gone after the '24-25 season. If things go as planned, she'll walk into a starting role next to Post Kate Koval and point guard Hannah Hidalgo. Really good "get" by Coach Ivey and Recruiting Director Michaela Mabrey.
