No we don't. In addition to needing to have a high talent level, Auriemma and his staff are meticulous about a kid having the right attitude and academic ability to be a long term fit for the program. For those reasons they make fewer offers than the schools that use the Jeff Walz carpet bombing method. Of course we don't find out about a UConn offer unless a kid announces it on social media and there just aren't that many that can do that. UConn is pretty honest with a kid regarding their offer status and if there's an opening and a possibility that they make one late as signing day approaches, if the kid really wants it they'll sometimes be patient and wait it out. That's where the occasional surprises pop up.My question is always, when UConn makes an offer, do we always know? There always seem to be "surprises" in recruiting in regards to the program's interest in players, detail on unofficial and official visits.
