Took some doing, but Scott Gray suggested that when Gov Malloy told Ollie and UConn not to go to the Final Four in Indiana, the B1G was displeased, as it has two schools in Indiana. Comparisons to the BC lawsuit were made.
Well I'm displeased they took RU.

Hmmn, I don't buy that, but Malloy is an idiot.

If UConn gets a hockey only B1G invite they have to take it. Do we really wanna piss them off?
I doubt we get an invite and unless it was a prelude to a total Big invite I doubt we'd take it. Why give up local rivalries in the best hockey league in the country, in a bus league at that, where every team but 1 is less 4 hours away or less, Often much less, for a less attractive slate requiring far more travel? If it came with a guarantee of a full membership in a few years, ok. Otherwise it makes no sense whatsoever.

I don't know that it would have to come with a guarantee of full membership, but it would probably need more than just hockey.

Either Gray is the most plugged in guy in Connecticut or he's one delusional sob.

Either way it takes a certain kind of troll csnbbs to dig up an article from today's west Hartford press. I applaud that guys dedication. Typically he just steals from here.

It's always something that's going to knock us out of an invite. It gets tiring.

That's one h3ll of a leap. The presidents from IU and Purdue have to ask themselves if it was such a good law, why did they amend it almost immediately?

Scott Gray is the absolute LAST person on earth I would listen to regarding UCONN and CR!!

Someone remind me of the theory of being damaged by thge BC lawsuit are? Something like BC was so morally outraged by the lawsuit that they'd never, never agree to anything that caused us to play them in football. But not so morally outraged that they wouldn't beg to play us in men's and women's hoops? And not so morally outraged that they wouldn't continue to play us in baseball, soccer and other non-revenue sports?

I clearly don't understand what the world "outrage" means. It must be a synonym for either "self-interest" or "fear."

When I was working at some radio stations in the mid 90s I spent a good anount of time in the Whaler's press box. It's the second option on Gray.

On the rare occasion I hear him now, it's shocking to me that he still has that job. It's like the whole world but him evolved and he's still in 1987.

I thought he retired from the WTIC gig? He might write a sports column for the imprint newspapers. (West Hartford News, et al).

Recently? It wasn't that long ago the last time I heard one of his pieces on the radio. I happened to hear the Big 10 one. And something about Father's Day and Little League - so maybe a year ago?

http://espn.go.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/101023/sec-commish-select-sankey-talks-playoff-freshman-eligibility-and-more… SEC new Commish wants to keep playoffs at 4 teams and wants to protect Conference Championship Games.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 5h 5 hours ago
As I have told @theDudeofWV and many others the B12 will go back to having a CCG...ACC/B10/SEC/PAC will not get rid of thier CCG.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 5h 5 hours ago
The question is does the B12 get their CCG at 10 teams. We will need to see how the proposal is written up..but it hasn't been at this point

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 5h 5 hours ago
Scott & Delany have not seen the written proposal to deregulate CCG to the point where 10 team Conf can have CCG. Why haven't they seen it?

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 24m 24 minutes ago
Finally the B12 has figured out what I've been telling them for 24 months. 13-0 >> 12-0 12-1 >> 11-1 B12 needs a CCG. B12 will get a CCG

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 23m 23 minutes ago
Now the question is...can the B12 get a CCG at 10 or 11 schools? Can the B12 get their deregulation proposal passed? We need to see proposal

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 22m 22 minutes ago
But anymore talk of the B12 avoiding a CCG is pure insanity. The SEL COMM just told them AGAIN today a 13th game needed to gain most value

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 20m 20 minutes ago
I don't think the B12 wants a CCG within a Round-Robin schedule. I think a B12 expansion is coming...unless OU/UT have eyes on exit.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 20m 20 minutes ago
But either way the B12 current roster will change and their will be at least another chair at the P5 table.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 19m 19 minutes ago
The Horse n Buggy B12 is close to getting a Volkswagen. It's about time. Even Bowlsby can't shut out progress.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 18m 18 minutes ago
I think the B12 ends up with UCF and BYU. But Cincy has a great story to tell. But there is no way B12 at 10 with no CCG is staying.

That's one h3ll of a leap. The presidents from IU and Purdue have to ask themselves if it was such a good law, why did they amend it almost immediately?
Yes, just about everyone agrees the law was bad & the Indiana legislature amended the law. But for Malloy to go on Hardball & call Gov. Pence a bigot was beyond stupid. I think Gray should spend his time at the dog track instead of writing columns. However, I would think the B1G was not happy with Malloy's grandstanding & Ollie not attending the final four. If UCONN was in the final four, do you think Malloy would have issued the order for state employees not to travel to Indiana? To me, Malloy placed political opportunism first.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
Make no mistake..what the SEL COMM has finally drilled into the heads of the B12...makes today the best day UCONN/BYU/CINCY/MEMP/UCF/HOU...

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
...has had in a long time. I know it all could end in B12 getting a CCG at 10 schools..but there will be even more pressure to add 2...

Landthieves ‏@LandThieves · 2h2 hours ago
Tell BYU we're gonna avoid the Sunday play by letting their olympicss stay in WCC. Grab Cinci in all sports. It'll be fine I assure you.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
@LandThieves Very sound proposal.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
"@CFBHeather: Bowlsby: "I surmise we will probably move in that direction knowing what we now know." Bowlsby has finally woken up

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
@MurrDCU Sure...B12 could add only 1 team. But why not add drama and excitement and footprint - 12 schools -2 Divisions - CCG. Let's go!!

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
I'm just not sure about B12 getting this deregulation passed-CCG at 10 schools. We need to see this proposal in writing..where is it?

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
@davidubben @dfank_BU Who votes for this deregulation? Is it P5 schools or all D1?

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 1h 1 hour ago
Bowlsby: 'we are at a disadvantage not having a conference championship game." The light bulb has finally gone on within B12 Leadership

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 1h 1 hour ago
@knightbengal I can't get an answer from any B12 writer/blog. Who votes on deregulation. Simple question but no answer.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 1h 1 hour ago
@knightbengal If the vote is by total D1 I can see it passing pretty easily..but if it needs to pass P5 it will be a struggle

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 1h 1 hour ago
And let me ask one more question: When has ACC Swofford ever stated he is for eliminating the 12 school limit to stage a CCG?

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 59m 59 minutes ago
Swofford has stated he wants Deregulation so each Conf has the ability to choose a method of determining who plays in Conference CCG. But...

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 58m 58 minutes ago
...he (Swofford) has never made a public statement in professing to agree with Bowlsby that the "12 team rule" should be eliminated.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 16h16 hours ago
I would like to hear what @theDudeofWV has to say about what the SEL COMM said today about the importance of a 13th game. Even Dude had to..

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 16h16 hours ago
..to see the light. So what is it? A B12 CCG at 10 teams?...or at 11 or 12?
What say you @theDudeofWV?
No more advoidance of CCG will do.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 12h12 hours ago
@flugempire The B12 will expand when & only if it’s profitable to do so.

Greg Flugaur
‏@flugempire
@theDudeofWV So CCG with 10 teams is the future if you get Deregulation passed. BTW who votes on deregulation? I can't get an answer

Greg Flugaur
‏@flugempire
@theDudeofWV @Expansion_Crush Who votes on deregulation? Is it p5 or all of D1?

Greg Flugaur
‏@flugempire
@theDudeofWV @Expansion_Crush Chris you can't just play a 13th game. You cant avoid a CCG. Give up the ghost..it's time.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 12h12 hours ago
Today’s news changes nothing for the Big 12. Expansion under the current TV contract destabilizes the conf & will not happen.

Greg Flugaur
‏@flugempire
@theDudeofWV B12 is not going to continue being at disadvantage overall with the SEL COMM. Change is coming for the B12 and thank God for it

Greg Flugaur
‏@flugempire
@theDudeofWV of course it changes something in B12...you are going to get a CCG at 10 or 11 or 12. I'm not sure why you can't see...

Greg Flugaur
‏@flugempire
@geoffmitchell @theDudeofWV @Expansion_Crush There will be change...dude is trying to avoid CCG...I have no idea why. None.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 11h11 hours ago
Just a reminder that WVU’s Oliver Luck was a member of the playoff committee. So what Long told Bowlsby isn’t a surprise to the Big 12.

Greg Flugaur
‏@flugempire
@theDudeofWV So why all this talk from you 2 weeks ago about B12 & ACC not having CCG in the future?

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 11h11 hours ago
@flugempire Yea. The option not to have a CCG is still there.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 11h11 hours ago
@theDudeofWV Maybe they won't...but a CCG is coming back. Did you here what Bowlsby said today? I'm not sure you who is giving you info

Greg Flugaur @flugempire
· 11h 11 hours ago
@theDudeofWV @geoffmitchell @Expansion_Crush The B12 does want a CCG now...because they were told 13 games is better than 12. Why is this...

Greg Flugaur @flugempire
· 11h 11 hours ago
@theDudeofWV @geoffmitchell @Expansion_Crush ...so hard to understand? I don't get it. B12. Wants one now..it will get one. Period.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire
· 11h 11 hours ago
@theDudeofWV With all due respect Chris you don't get it. B12 now believes they need to get on same playing field with other P5.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire
· 11h 11 hours ago
Bowlsby: "I surmise we will probably move in that direction knowing what we now know." (Big 12 Conference Championship Game)
@theDudeofWV

Greg Flugaur
‏@flugempire
@theDudeofWV "knowing what we know now"...yep...either Luck told him nothing or Bowlsby is covering his poor leadership.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 11h11 hours ago
@flugempire Of course the B12’s stance on a CCG would change when Long tells them it wasn’t just s situational disadvantage.

Greg Flugaur
‏@flugempire
@theDudeofWV Ok...so now you understand. CCG is coming back to the B12. I'm just trying to make sure you understand this point...

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 11h11 hours ago
@flugempire I explained the B12’s belief prior to today. So what’s your point? Are you saying I was wrong?

Greg Flugaur @flugempire
· 11h 11 hours ago
@theDudeofWV So things have changed right? Because 30 minutes ago you said things have not changed for B12 in regards of today's info.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 11h11 hours ago
@flugempire What Bowlsby advises them & what they decide has yet to be determined. I know WVU will vote yes.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 11h11 hours ago
@flugempire Didn’t I explain the B12’s belief in regards to a CCG & how that may have changed today?

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 11h11 hours ago
@theDudeofWV "Today’s news changes nothing for the Big 12."
I was just correcting you on this statement you had earlier.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 11h11 hours ago
@flugempire And I do my very best to draw a distinction between what I’m told & my opinion. My opinion is often wrong.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 11h11 hours ago
@flugempire It’s not certain. What is certain is the B12 will NOT expand. That’s not my opinion.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 11h11 hours ago
@flugempire Bowlsby must convince UT & OU they would be left out without a CCG.
