Non-Key Tweets

I know because there is someone by that name who actually lives in Minnesota. I have always thought that Flugaur knows too much about UConn for someone who is not a fan. Unless it's because the real Flugaur works for Burton's company and that is why he has an interest in UConn.

Completely agree. This dude is really up on his UCONN for a Minnesotan. Perhaps knows more about UCONN than some UCONN fans do.

I know, right? Feigning and interest in Minnesota to promote UCONN...that would be epic.

I know, but look at that picture on Flugaur's twitter. The one that says "Think BIG". That seems HFD to me. HFD's twitter account said "Go BIG or Die Trying" and "B1GConn" (despite his many ACC scenarios). Very strange.

His linkedin only has 2 connections so it could be a fake account with cenveo as an Easter egg.

I still think it's much too eloborate of a scheme for HFD to pull off.

The dude is clearly a Minn fan so I say he is real and his tweets are BS. He can visit this board once a week to find ammo to troll us.

Soon he will be tweeting about an eastern school with a 20 year master plan with near term B1G aspirations and huge influx of grad research spending.

My guess is they don't let a forecast of half an inch of snow deter them in Minnesota the way some UCONN fans are in Connecticut.

That guy is supposed to be The Dude's Big10 "contact." He's the "insider" that was talking about FSU was talking to The Big10 and that OSU was pushing for it and Michigan, along with Wisconsin were against. Whether he's full of it or not, I don't know (I personally think he is lying his behind off).

@stoplot ..member. I pass on most on what I've been told. Told by more than 1 person sitting in Big 10 cat-bird seats. Not a Husker. Gopher

(I think he meant Husky).

@stoplot Some info contradict. UCONN having Hockey program at this point is a negative for MIN & WIS do not want more Hockey CONF games

That's me tweeting him... I don't buy a thing he is selling in regards to ND but I'll let you judge the other info.

Hahaha. Now the hockey program is a negative. In a furtile recruiting area. You literally can make this up.

HFD did pretend to be fromtheinside on a csnbbs board once, but it was pretty quick before you could easily recognize it was HFD - like, two posts quick. Maybe he got better at disguising himself via twitter, but it would take a bunch of effort to pretend to be a UMinn and Vikings fan.

Whoever Flugar really is, he does have this boards attention!

Minnesota makes the most money in Hockey, before the Big Ten Hockey, and of course afterwards. Minnesota was told the Big Ten would not...

....expand conference games anytime in the near future. This is why UCONN having a hockey program now is not a positive....but in 5 years...

....it will be a positive metric in gaining entrance in the Big 10. For those on "Boneyard" who believe I don't know what the hell I'm....

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
...talking about when it comes to Big 10 Hockey expansion.....you are clueless. For a message board who fantasizes about me being "Dan"...

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
.....good grief. UCONN has greatly improves itself in regards to Research EXPENDITURES....ranked #80. Future is bright...support is there.

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
But UCONN having a D1 hockey program in 2014 moves no needles. And as for the guy on that board who states MINN & WIS would want the...

@CTMike78 @uconndennis Please don't misunderstand me. UCONN hockey as an asset is great. But the lay of the land currently in Big 10...

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h 2 hours ago
@CTMike78 @uconndennis ....hockey is a SEVERE NO to expansion because of what I explained. There is a pause in B1G Hockey expn...no doubts

The legend of HukieFanDan continues.
A good kid who sometimes misses his Meds.
You say that like it is bad thing, in any event my sense is that Dan may have self medicated from time to time.

Confidentially the Flug has a rhythm that reminds me of HFD. I really don't care one way or the other. The Flug has been a lifeline, particularly after football games. Keep the post coming.

His points on hockey are correct, though he left out one caveat - MN, Wisc, et al don't want more conference games with bad opponents that are far away. If BU and BC were going to join the league, all six would be 100% on board. As for the recruiting ground, those schools don't give two craps about recruiting in CT or New England, they all pull from Minnesota high school hockey and other upper midwest areas. There is a grand total of one player from New England in the entire B1G conference. That's not because they can't recruit in New England, they just don't. It's just how it is. Adding UConn (or BU and BC) would mean absolutely nothing for B1G recruiting.

That said, the fact that UConn is investing in its hockey program is not a negative overall. They just have to build it to a point where it would not drag down and dilute the B1G. With HE having 11 other teams, it's not a big deal to have one that sucks but is promising in the future.

If you consider jack and coke a med , undoubtedly.

HFD was real enough, the scenarios he came up with ,not so much.

Why would having a hockey program now be viewed as a negative, yet in 5 years it would be looked at as a major positive?

I didn't follow that either.

I guess they like their current non-conference schedule?

I don't get it either. Currently, the Big Ten teams play each other 4 times for 20 conference games. If UConn was added, they can play each other 3 times for 18 conference games.

You guys are debating the validity of a person who threatened to stop publishing inside info if you 'light a match'.

Yet some think he's the crazy one.

Haha... Why are all these dudes of <insert state here> self absorbed as if they hold our fate in their hands. The landscape may be changing from football dollars to all dollars next, which is more favorable for us. Connecticut as a whole is a top 25 tv market and we can contribute solid content for a good portion of the year. It's unfortunate that our current football product is poor, but we delivered a moderate level of success very quickly in a bcs conference. We will do it again with the right people in charge.

My only thought is that Minnesota was very apprehensive about joining the Big10 hockey conference. They had a great schedule with great rivalries. They might want to keep those rivalries with North Dakota, Notre Dame, Denver, and the other Minnesota schools. Any expansion might keep them from those.

Sounds about right. If you're Minnesota, Who's the better draw at home, UCONN or Lake Superior State?
