Thank you Captain Obvious.

You're welcome.

That said If I'm UCONN I'm selling the very real value of the school as a burgeoning football and elite basketball program in the Northeast. They need to show how they bring value to the conference's Tier 1 Media Rights, as I am highly skeptical of there ever being a Big 12 Network to market your valuable Tier 3 Content on.

For all the insane things we've seen discussed - nothing makes less sense than the Big 12 adding 4 teams.

Star Wars has more basis in reality than that nonsense.
th

"Seductive, the power of conference network money is."

How about this scenario? Texas relents and allows UCONN and UC in with the understanding that conference network develops with no financial loss to them (replacing LHN money for network $$) Conference renegotiates the GOR, and if no Big12 network say within 3 years, the GOR is null and void, and they are free to do whatever..

I want to believe with anyone else, and Flugs tweets support the Cincinnati Enquirers work. The financial haircut is actually fairly normal for buying into any partnership, especially when the incoming partner has limited leverage, so I am not surprised at that.

Boren is on the record with Cincinnati, and hopefully UConn too.

If there was even a shred of interest by the Big 10 and ACC, something should happen soon. The ACC can't wait until we already have an offer to make up their mind.

Hoping in the next round UConn = Matt Damon, B1G = Johnny Chan, and Big 12 = KGB. Check check check...

Agree. I also agree that I don't think it will happen

The B1G doesn't need to act since they can wait for the Big 12's GOR to lapse to collect Connecticut. From the B1G perspective, the Big 12 is a safe landing place for us to grow until we reach their metrics.

The ACC, conversely, is a short term thinker. Without the ACCN, they aren't going dilute their current payoff, which already lags behind the big dogs.

Yeah when the B1G acts, it will be to scoop up a UVA, Kansas or OU, hopefully along with UConn but it won't make an incremental (for the B1g) move. They'll be like Mr. Burns and bide their time with the sword of Damocles hanging above the head of the B12 (and/or ACC). The ACC is also probably thinking that UConn will be available in the future whether from the AAC or if it joins the BXII which then gets blown up in the mid 2020s, and they have their own issues to address with Raycom.

Now, it would be great if either one of them were adherents of Sun-Tzu:

All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.

Nippert Stadium will need to add about 8k more seats in the next 8 years if they join B12.

Albert Ruscitto ‏@CincyP5orbust · 2m2 minutes ago
@MH3 Just announced addition of nearly twice that if moving to B12.

MH3 ‏@MH3 · 5m5 minutes ago UC president tells AD to "get ready" in regards to changing conference affiliations.

If the GOR would apply to all new teams (which I can't see it not) then we may miss the B1G bus when it rolls out in 4-6 years. If I am going to put all my eggs in one basket I go with the safe haven of the Big12. Even if that league eventually implodes then we are at least with the next tier of teams for P5 consideration and we stack up nicely against them.

@flugempire UC announced today they are prepared to take stadium near 55k. That's not a coincidence.

I know.

Nah, I think it will happen now, which is going to make the ultimate kick extra painful.

They are? It's just Flug. Am I missing something?

Well, I'd count the fact that Big 12 is looking toward expansion, hired two firms, we were one of the firm's recommendations and now Fluguar's reports as all good news...I'm not ready to say we're in the Big 12 or anything, but we also need to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and being overly pessimistic as well.

I'll give MH is proper credit: for a non-UConn guy he seems to understand that UConn is very well positioned in all metrics, including a very quick and easy expansion of the Rent. If we begin B12 play in 2017, we are probably at 55K on opening day. Many people out there don't understand how the Rent was designed and built in the first place.

@alexbrowns19 I think 14 is the magic number for a network. UCONN & 1 of the Fla schools at least are in..

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 2h2 hours ago
@alexbrowns19 13 & 14 would be between a Fla school, BYU & UC.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 1h1 hour ago
@alexbrowns19 My primary concern if I were a UC fan would be that the B12 hired a consulting firm to use deep analytics on feasibility.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 1h1 hour ago
@alexbrowns19 This is only my opinion but based on my research UCONN, BYU & UCF should be locks.

Alexander Vinolus ‏@alexbrowns19 · 1h1 hour ago  Cincinnati, OH
@theDudeofWV @alexbrowns19 but not UC?

Christopher Lambert‏@theDudeofWV
@alexbrowns19 Well. UCONN makes a network feasible. USF has 1.8M CHs, UCF has 1.4M CHs. BYU is truly the only P5 worthy school.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 1h1 hour ago
@alexbrowns19 I think UC would get the 14th spot but I'm far less certain they would get 11 or 12th spot.

Mike Ross ‏@Mike_ohio26 · 52m52 minutes ago
@theDudeofWV @alexbrowns19 just a few months ago u said UC was a lock @ 11 but no one could agree on 12. Once again your all over the place

Christopher Lambert‏@theDudeofWV
@Mike_ohio26 @alexbrowns19 No. The network changed it.

Christopher Lambert‏@theDudeofWV
@Mike_ohio26 @alexbrowns19 I said a lock if the B12 expanded. But the consulting firm may have reset appraisal.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 17m17 minutes ago
@Mike_ohio26 @alexbrowns19 What I said was based on my opinion only.

Christopher Lambert‏@theDudeofWV
@Mike_ohio26 @alexbrowns19 The more i think about the B12 hiring a firm the more I think it will be a data driven decision.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 1h1 hour ago
@alexbrowns19 The B12 is 6 votes short for any expansion. Only the most profit changes those votes.

Christopher Lambert‏@theDudeofWV
@alexbrowns19 There is a simple reason: Any B12 b
Network would have to pay Texas $15M each year off the top. Need the most cable homes.

I have seen this many times before and have always been intrigued what the potential plans might be, are there any stories/ examples for what the potentially renovated rent would look like or where it is we would add seats?

@Mike_ohio26 @alexbrowns19 Besides that was only my opinion. Not info passed down from B12.

Mike Ross ‏@Mike_ohio26 · 1h1 hour ago
@theDudeofWV @alexbrowns19 You still had Cincy @ 11 after the network talk started

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 37m37 minutes ago
@Mike_ohio26 @alexbrowns19 Didn't I explain it. After thinking about it the fact the B12 hired a firm leads me to believe data is king.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 33m33 minutes ago
@Mike_ohio26 @alexbrowns19 Mike your criticism today is undeserved as I made it very clear I was postulating scenarios not stating fact.

Mike Ross ‏@Mike_ohio26 · 27m27 minutes ago
@theDudeofWV @alexbrowns19 your opinion "based on your research" only pointed out earlier based on ur reseach u said UC was in

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 22m22 minutes ago
@Mike_ohio26 @alexbrowns19 I think I made it clear UC's best metric was distance from Morgantown.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 23m23 minutes ago
@Mike_ohio26 @alexbrowns19 It's pretty simple. UCONN, USF & UCF all have larger DMAs.
