Where are all of those people that were saying Nolan was going to be so much better this year. His defense is awful, he has no offense and he doesn't rebound.

Take my 106 posts and screw? Haha, are you 15 years old?

Well he did have 1 rebound. Not what we're looking for, but still a rebound nonetheless.

He's always in foul trouble. Today was mostly his own fault for poor positioning in the paint giving help (although stopping the ball once in a while would help prevent those fouls), but other games he has gotten some head-scratching calls against him. When you are in foul trouble, you play tentative - and when you play tentative down low, you tend to accomplish very little. He'll keep getting chances - just needs to take advantage. I don't want Brimah starting, since he's a good game-changer off the bench who also gets in foul trouble a lot, but is more vital to have out there at the end for offense/defense.

his biggest issue with the fouls is how often he slaps down on defense with his arms, he does it every single time someone drives at him, he's gotta learn to just keep his hands straight up

we clearly need all four of our bigs to be successful. PN has had a couple of bad games and perhaps needs to take a step back in the rotation, but he is still an important cog in the wheel

The problem is PN is a decent offensive big and has the potential to give us some production from the 5 spot but the foul trouble is what's preventing that from happening.

I can reveal one thing I knew. Alex wants to get to the league and he knows if he makes it to the NBA its as a power forward not a center. KO was brilliant working this point and Alex worked hard to get a center on-board. That's all I am saying for now.

Olander's experience was needed this game. But u can't deny Nolans help Defense and shot blocking ability is a leg up from last year.

Stupid post. Just because he isn't fulling up the box score doesn't make him worthless like u imply.

He is long, fast and athletic plus he hustles. You can't coach that. Cant wait till he proves ur dumb a** wrong.

In crunch time big games it will be Tyer as we saw tonight.

Phillip will get there don't give up yet. Just needs more time.

My original post might have been a result of frustration, but the fact of the matter is that he is our starting center and he had 1 asst, 1 reb, 4 fouls in 6 mins of PT. Apologies, but I expect a bit more. He's not a freshman anymore so don't tell me it's just his inexperience. Honestly, Facey could have produced those same numbers in 6 mins of action.

Long, fast, athletic and he hustles? I did not see any of those traits last night. That might better describe Amida, but Nolan is actually quite lazy on defense, which resulted in dumb fouls.

Listen, I hope he proves my dumb @ss wrong (nothing like getting personal,) but it won't happen. He might have a few decent games this year, but the expectations on this board for Nolan this year were completely and utterly unsubstantiated.

On many of his fouls he is out of position. He likes to pay D with his shoulders and he is turned. They will get that fixed. At the start of the game Indiana attacked the basket and he held his own.

I will watch more closely but consider this.........you can't get into rebounding position a lot when you are helping because the guards or wings were beaten off the dribble and you always need to help. Our guards, especially early in games get beat and that's real. So does DD and Omar, the bigs are always helping. They need to be better at rebounding the ball no doubt but there are other factors involved. And just because you are helping doesn't mean you need to foul someone! Phil will be fine, he'll find his way!

He is just beginning his second year. We knew he was a project and that is what he still is. He needs to get much better defensively and learn a few go to moves offensively. Hopefully we see incremental improvements every five or six games. I think it will take another year or maybe into his senior year before he reaches his full potential.

Phil was pretty funny standing behind Shabazz while being interviewed by Jeff Goodman after the game......smiling all debonair looking for the ladies!!:D

Awesome bro, you must feel so proud that you showed all those losers that were optimistic about a player on a team we're all fans of!!

You totally rule!!!!!

We won a Championship with Chuck as our starting center. He also was not a powerhouse down low. Ollie will make adjustments to compensate for our bigs, like he did last night (and most games this year). If they increase production fine, we just need them to hold their own this season, and that means body up, snatch a few boards and block some shots. Any scoring (i.e. double digit) will be a bonus.

If you keep looking for cracks in the sidewalk you will find them. We all just need to lower our expectations and accept that our bigs are a year away. That will not stop us from winning!
