Geno is preparing his team march and April. He has been very vocal about his disappointment in the performance of our non-SS front court. This is giving the others a chance to assert themselves against a team that has only won 3 games in conference. Serah and Jana need to remember how they were dominant players before injuries and or taking a “backseat” to the best player in the country. They should have no trouble with this. I hope it’s empowering for them

Geez at least make something up say out with a sore ankle? We get it this current BE and managing the roster but young fans aren’t going to be too happy going to the game to see Sarah Strong. Certainly understand both sides to it, do what you gotta to be at our best in March.

Hopefully this doesn’t affect Strong in getting POY award this will get online backlash from the anti UConn crowd. I’m sure there will be a voter who will give this reason for not voting for Strong it’s ridiculous but it does give them ammo.
 
To go or not to go. Some snow, very cold, and windy. My other seat people have already begged out, so its just me if I go. Hate going alone, but if I don't I am wasting two tickets instead of the other I bought for my friends. Stll thinking about it.
 
Maybe she had the flu last game, toughed it out for limited minutes like Katie Lou, but now Geno her to rest and he makes the rest step it up. He did say it is for rest. He can be mum and just say someone is out and not give a reason, then we find out later it was for a twisted ankle, but here he did give a reason, I don't think he would tell a lie, he tells it like it is or he keeps quiet.
 
So, we resting Azzi next game? She has more minutes than Sarah.

Gonna be Ugly Ugly today, which is probably what Geno is trying to do. They won’t lose today, but could be a stinker.

We may not ever know what’s in Genos head. Lol

So I would guess Allie starts at the 4, K9 and Jana are the first 2 off the bench. Kellis and Yanna are the deep bench?
 
I think it’s tied to all of her off the court commitments she’s had recently with the Slam magazine cover and events she’s had to take part in as a result. That’s a lot when you throw in school plus UConn basketball day in and day out. One game off against a team we previously crushed by 50 is a nothing burger and gives Sarah a mini break.
 
Sarah taking a game off is similar to what the NBA does, frequently with back to back games, when teams will often rest their stars for a game in the middle of a grueling season. This is one of the true advantages of a BE schedule that’s front end loaded.

I expect we’ll see a guard-heavy lineup today with more PT for both Jana & Ayanna.

So long as shes not injured thats fine. We need to be healthy tournament time 100% healthy would be great. We need everyone else to steo up and this gives them the chance. I would like to see KK Ash and Kayleigh shoot more. Jana and Serah rebound more and score more. This gives the non-starters to step up and show us what they can do and the starters not to be so dependent on Sarah. We shouldnt lose this game we just may not win it by 50.

I’ve never seen him sit a player of the year candidate so others get a chance to assert themselves. He recently said he wanted to start building up starter minutes.
