UConn's every-5 year reign ends RT @jeffborzello 2015 Maui: Indiana, Kansas, St. John's, UCLA, UNLV, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Chaminade.

With the power 5 conferences guaranteed 5 of the spots every year, looks like the AAC, nBE, MWC, WCC, and A10 will be fighting each other for those 2 remaining spots going forward. That's quite the logjam for 2 spots...

I know the big Nike tourney is in 2017, so hopefully UConn gets into Maui in 2016.

So we should have either UNC or Duke in there in 2016. Maybe Kentucky too? 2016 would be a nice year to get in.

I read an article recently that the Squid actually rejected an offer to play in Maui because he doesn't like the long travel it involves. Yikes...

With Kansas in the 2015 field, if you want a take that Conspiracy Kitty might appreciate, just maybe UConn and Kansas actually finalized a series for 14-15 and 15-16. I know there was some talk recently about UConn trying to schedule a series with Kansas. Just a thought [that probably has no basis in reality].

If you're going with conspiracy theory, we weren't invited because they only take one from a conference and Indiana was chosen!

Andy Katz posted an article a couple days ago that Duke is headlining the Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun in 2016 so they won't be in Maui. If UCONN doesn't get into Maui for 2016 would love an invite to the Hall of Fame Tip-Off. UCONN vs. Duke in a "neutral" site game at Mohegan Sun, I can smell the upset now :)

Upset? So you think Duke will win? No other explanation for that comment.

Us beating Duke at Mohegan Sun next year won't be an upset.

Edit: In '16

since when is beating last years champions considered an upset?

Incredibly bummed were not in Maui. Best tourney/trip ever. Sure hope we return in 2016

Too bad..was hoping to make the return trip as well. (But as long as Kentucky isn't going back, their fans suck.)

The Maui field this year honestly isn't all that impressive. The abundance of these preseason tournaments is watering down all of them.

Exactly. So many posters here fret about the quality of these tournament fields and claim we should be turning them down when so much of it is just luck of the draw. We played in the Atlantis tournament a couple of years ago with a mediocre field - then last year's field was completely loaded.

We are too predictable in tournaments. I can understand not inviting us, organizers like to spread the wealth. Think of it as us being too greedy, always collecting trophies and never sharing.

Its our albatross.

Jeez guys give me a break, No I don't think Duke is going to win but UCONN would be considered the underdog, and I know beating them at Mohegan Sun wouldn't be an upset hence why I put "neutral" in parenthesis. Obviously if I'm on this forum I'm a UCONN fan. We are #13 in the country, we are 7-0, and we have a big game against Florida coming up not sure why everyone's so uptight lol
