Let's see how they play.

I don't think Joe Lunardi is some savant or something but he had us next 4 out, which should put us somewhere around 8th for the NIT... A 2 seed. Does the NIT even hate on the AAC?

who even cares about the seeding in this joke of a tournament? hopefully it'll be at least a few more games to develop our young players.

AAC needs to represent. Need all the teams to dominate. Even though crappy NIT need to change perception. This conference needs a serious marketing firm

I thought we'd get like a 2 so we could play some cream puff at Gampel and let our guys get some confidence. That's the only reason I care. But hey, the game's still at Gampel so maybe playing a tougher team will be better for us.

problem is half these AAC teams are supposed to be cream puffs,

We beat all the cream puffs (except our bad night in Houston). It was the top of the league we had problems with.

We will find out when SMU takes the court next week, but I was not impressed with the top half of the AAC this past week. Nice teams. But not world beaters. Most flawed. Perhaps it's because I sat through so many Big East Tournaments and saw 8 NCAA tournament teams in the quarters.

I am pretty damn concerned UConn managed to finish 6th in this league quite frankly. Everything from our stand point needs to get better fast. Current players, coaches, recruiting, and much stronger emphasis on regular season performance. Committee will pop an AAC bubble if we don't win the league tournament.

The fact that Richmond got a one seed out of the A-10 at 19-13 is even more ludicrous. A-10>>AAC now? Hilarious

Richmond's seed is silly but the A-10 is better than the AAC.

Huh????

We beat Cincy, SMU and Tulsa at home during the season and lost in OT to Temple without Boatright for more than half the game.

A10 stinks. They just scheduled better. It shouldn't be difficult to figure out. Those bottom teams need to up their schedules and get out of the sub-200 range.

And we need to have more luck. SMU was largely hurt for losing games OOC...but they were missing key players. Same with Temple. Same, honestly, did UConn.

we lost to yale, stanford, and tulsa among other losses. Uconn has proven that there are no "cream puffs" with the offense they have been running

I agree. Was bad enough last year when we got a 7 instead of the 4 most thought we deserved. It's clear there's a bias against our league, and you'd think we'd get the benefit of the doubt given our track record, but I guess we are just lumped in with the rest of the never was's in our league.

We had 8 conference losses. Tell me who they were to.

It's disappointing that we didn't make the tournament this year, I agree. But we did lose Napier, Daniels, and Giffey. Those 3 guys were what, 60% of our scoring last year? It's a down year. We have down years because we don't get a bunch of 1-and-dones who do well during the regular season and then leave as we reload. Our freshmen need time to develop. About 3-4 years, and then we win a national championship. The formula works.

On an unrelated note is there any particular reason that tool is your avatar?

I have Hathaway there for people to remember what can happen when we let our guard down. Never forget!

I don't like this formula. I want to be in the NCAA's every year. I think it's a dangerous formula to lean on in our current situation. I would like the staff to be more flexible and adjust to the roster. And recruit a better one.

I'm sorry but I am literally sick to my stomach watching SMU fans chanting NIT at us. I just can't handle it.

The top half of the American is better than the A10. It's just that there's a steep drop off, and there are no in-between schools. It helps them get more quality wins, and buoys their conference RPI a bit.

Thank you for that. That was my perception, you proved it. I keeping mistakenly thinking of the conference in relation to the top 6, not bottom 5. Much appreciated.

Would be cool if the NIT could somehow secure a deal with NCAA that the winner of NIT gets an automatic bid to the NCAA tourney the following year... That would raise the stakes to the NIT exponentially

The top half is the same, but you are right that the AAC lacks a creamy middle. Mmm creamy middle.
