Nika and KK both attending Kelsey Plum camp

I’m curious about KK. So she’s going to this camp. Does UConn pay for that? If so, what other things can they do? Let’s say Geno knows Kevin McHale or Hakeem Olajuwon, could he bring one of them in and have him work with Jana for a week? Is that allowed? Anybody know?

I remember Azzi going last year. I'm just curious of the timing. Pretty sure training camp starts the 28th for the W. So maybe it's sometime next week.

.-.
Is Nika going as a student or an instructor?
All of the players are students. The camp is workshop that helps the players transition from college to their upcoming professional carriers in basketball.

Upcoming pro basketball careers? KK? Goodness. She needs to get through at least two more years of the Geno School before she should begin to think of the next level in her basketball journey.

Looks like Azzi, KK and Nika are there, also Dyaisha Fair, here's a photo from the Las Vegas Aces News X post

I know I'm getting carried away, but Nika kinda seems like she's clamping Kelsey Plum. Also she looks so much bigger than her. I know there was like a joke about Nika saying she's 5'11 and can guard post awhile ago, but I think it's accurate. It also made me think maybe/hopefully the game in the W will allow her to be more physical which would help her. And shout out to KK, I feel like she's kinda perfected that move.

I'm hearing rumors Azzi is at the camp. I didn't think she would be ready this soon.

It kind of looked like Nika was holding her own and she definitely looked an inch or two taller.

She's there, however I've not seen any clips of her participating. She's a Curry Brand athlete, so probably why she got an invite.

I think Nika is possibly 2-3” taller than Plum. When she was introduced at the draft, Rebecca called her a “big guard.”

I’ve seen Azzi in a “sleeve,” and she is probably able to shoot. But she’s several months away from full contact.

Probably correct, as Azzi was taking shots at the final four, however was not leaving her feet.

I had watched Nika on TV for 3+ years ( I live in Ohio) and then got to go to Xavier and see her play live. She's HUGE! Way bigger than I had imagined.

Does anyone out there know the answer to whether Geno, or any college coach, is allowed to pay some great former player, say Hakeem, or Shaq for example, to come in and work with his post player? For that matter, can they do it for free? I know former players from that particular school can do it, a la Tina but I was wondering if they could bring a specialist in that has no connection with the program?

Why not female ex post players? Kevin McHale and Olajuwon are older men. There are numerous older female post players Who were very good. Come on now…

Saw Azzi trending on Twitter and held me breathe before being treated to video of Azzi with a puppy. So at least there was some nice comforting images after the scare.

Edited for completeness:

Whatever! The question remains; are they allowed to bring someone in to work with our players beyond former Huskies?
