Giffey is such a heady ball player, always in the flow. Prototypical glue guy.
“Watched” him in an Olympic tune-up match against Serbia in Belgrade that year. Sadly he didn’t play if I recall but I did get his attention and a thumbs up from him from the crowd.

I know it’s not what you were asking, but I feel like UConn women have a total of 10 or so in the Olympics this year. Five for US five v five, 2 for US three v three, in two playing for team Canada 5 v 5.

Tell that to Avi Schafer, the Japanese Jewish kid on their Oly team! Talk about a unique background in Japan. Kid also played for the 33-0 ‘16-17 Brewster Academy team that won the NEPSAC class AAA championship and national prep championship.
