Nice Recruiting Point - Uconn players 2nd in Income Last Year

Only Duke had a higher Alumni income in the NBA and that was by a little over 1.2 million. Seems like a nice statistic to show recruits. http://collegespun.com/big-east/syracuse/the-15-colleges-whose-alumni-made-the-most-money-in-the-nba-this-year[/quote]

Interesting story... I also think Puke & KenSucky, who have the most NBA players in the NBA, will lose considerable NBA players on contract next year. They both have numerous players that won't be in the NBA next year.

Bye-Bye these guys...

KenSucky - Departing: Orton, Liggins, Bogans, D.Miller, Mohammed (maybe unless his playoff success gets a veteran contract), etc will probably be out next year. Enter maybe A.Goodwin possibly.

Puke - Departing: Duhon, Grant Hill, possibly D.Jones, C.Maggette, Lance (illegal Jewelry Loan) Thomas, S.Randolph, N.Smith (option not picked up), maybe even 1st round bust in Miles Plumlee... Enter Mason Plumlee & possibly Curry.

I know I'm reaching for a silver lining but... Maybe recruits will see this &$&@ conference as an opportunity to stand out versus our competition with our ooc games being the real challenge.

Because of the size NCAA tournament, conference affiliation is not the major concern of recruits. Kentucky plays in a mediocre basketball conference.

not often times mentioned, but the SEC is a weak basketball conference. Our new conference will still be better than the SEC, at least the first year is guaranteed to be such

But it is a "name" conference. That said, UK football sucks balls too. So that doesn't help.

I actually think some of today's kids would like to play in a lesser conference in order to stand out. Thing is, I don't want any of those kids. Ollie probably doesn't either.

Nice little statistic to point out. However unfortunately I believe that the BG, EO, and CV contracts are viewed as particularly horrible given their current levels of performance.

aac will always be better than sec. The old cusa was better than sec.

Ok4 doesn't deserve that contract, but he is a great contributor. Also a great person and mentor, lots of teams wish they had him.

And we never lack for people who just completely miss the point.

Thanks for contributing.

Hijack - I will be glad when our new logo is mainstream enough that we can drop the UCONN beneath it. It looks too small when sitting next to other logos. JMO.

Only if the coach of the team the kid goes to play for can get said kid to the NBA. For a case in point, look at Butler.

Where is Matt Howard (Hint: A large body of water separates him from his native land)? Shelvin Mack is a bit player for Atlanta and is on his 3rd team in 2 years. Gordon Heyward is playing good minutes in Utah, but is only averaging about 15 PPG. That really all that Coach Stevens has to show his recruits. No doubt he is a good Xs and Os coach, but we will see how good Stevens is at the rest of his job now that Butler is in the Big East with Gtown, Marquette and Nova.
