Nice article……Donyell doesn't get enough kudos' for his career as a Husky for whatever reason…..His final season as a junior is to me the single most impressive season any Husky has ever put up……what an impact and you couldn't wait to see what he was going to do the next game. Defensively, crowd pleasing dunks, athletic shot blocking, timely 3's, 20-20 FT's vs the Johnnies and yet unfortunately his 2 missed FT's are really etched deep in some peoples memories. I'm always of the belief you have to get there and someone leads you……they may fail in trying to keep it but still, you're not there without them. Yell was that guy carrying that team to a game against Florida - the season he had should never be remembered by that game, there were 4 others on the court at all times anyways.
And seeing him behind the bench most recently at Cincy tells you all you need to know……he's a true Husky forever and my gut is some day he would like to be an assistant on that bench next to KO and I hope that dream is fulfilled!
