Damn seems like they’re going to get everyone who came to that first night of theirs.
 
It seemed childish, so I didn’t say it, but we need to F with Duke on the whole delayed first night thing. They guaranteed they’d be last by being so late in October.

So what will Scheyer's excuse be when they don't win? Too much talent? Hard to manage all those egos. Guys go from being the star to one of many 5 stars. Ego is a powerful thing. Injuries can change a lot too.

And I thought one and done U died with Kentucky.

I don't want them hanging a Final Four banner here. Making it to the title game is a successful season.

I want them to have a Kentucky 2013 year. Or make the tournament as a 4-6 seed and lose in the first weekend—ideally first round.

That said: everyone here who was throwing dirt on Duke and Scheyer and pretending that without K they had nothing. . . y'all need to stop. Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Kansas. These are still the Tier 1s in the eyes of recruits, in part because of exposure, in part because of history, and in part because of NIL.
 
God it’s just so annoying they all go to Duke. I was certain they wouldn’t be able to win but if they have 5 star players at every position times 2 Scheyer legitimately needs to be the worst coach of all time for them to not limp into a final four at worst.

To me it’s crushing because like… we JUST won a national championship. If we can’t steal a recruit or two from the behemoth now I truly think it just won’t happen. No more focusing on anyone who has dreamt of going to Duke, focus on the gritty chip on their shoulder kids who didn’t get a whiff from Duke and we can continue to grit our way to a title every four years
 
Coach K couldn’t even get the job done with Zion, Barrett, and Reddish. That school should have 10+ titles for the amount of talent they bring in. If Scheyer flops with this group, he should be fired lol

What about Calipari with Kentucky? He must have had at least 40 5 star players in the last 10 years.

Well I will say, no one can spout off now that Scheyer can't recruit. We’ve been taken to the woodshed. Let’s see if he can win a title with the abundance of riches.

I don’t think anyone said he couldn’t. I think it’s the job he does on the sidelines that makes many question how effective he is at effectively deploying that great talent. He has job security now, but it would be highly comical if they don’t make a deep tournament run in 2025.
