Meh - nothing earth shaking here - but then again, anything is an improvement
Thanks for posting the images

Lump those right in with the "development" around the Yard Goats park and color me underwhelmed.

Speaking of XL weren't the naming rights expiring soon?

Here are the XL events if you remove any UConn or Wolf Pack games:

3/4 - The Elevation Worship Tour
3/13 - Cirque de Soleil
3/29 - Monster Truck Jam
4/8 - Mary J Blige

That’s 2017 money. Inflation alone puts that money at $222 million, and doesn’t account for the post pandemic costs of all building materials which are doubled on the low end.

Exactly, they needed a new building 15 years ago. Guess what, the cost to build will be significantly more money 8 years from now as well.

I guess this eyesore is their forever arena.

Those buildings around Dunkin Park fill up as soon as they build them. They are building another on Main Street right now. You may be underwhelmed but the demand for those apartments are in high demand.

Dunkin Park was built in 2016.

How is the Hooker Brewery and Hard Rock Cafe next to the park coming along?

My take, which I mean is 100% my view and not pushed on others, is the basketball court in the middle is the same regardless of what surrounds it. I go to watch basketball be played, the amenities don’t matter much. I have a system that I park easily and even when it’s a sellout am onto 84 within 15 minutes of getting in my car. But for those 40 minutes my eyes are focused on the court not the what surrounds it. I use the bathroom as I arrive and don’t typically go back towards it during the game. I get other people go for the overall experience, but from my perspective our pig in downtown is just fine for now.

Still with the bad faith, Deep? You've already acknowledged that nuisance lawsuit stopped all development for years. Once it went away, things are moving. Why do you root against Hartford? What do you get out of it?

What's moving forward, other than some housing? Is anyone moving in City Steam? Anything new right next to the park?

What do I get? I'd like to get somewhere to go before a game. Pratt St has opened some fun spots but that wasn't part of the whole ballpark planning and proposal.

If they can get 50% of lower bowl serviced on the lower level, this will be a much needed improvement. Reasonable lines & traffic on current concourse.

Then need to structure a few dozen mid-level boxes & clubs. Change endzone's from dead space into revenue.

All I need is a seat & a beer. I do not need 5* chicken tenders. Less money spent the better.

You just need to spend time with me in Hartford and you’ll change your view.

No I won’t get you shot.

So how many millions are we paying to paint some walls gray? I see before and after pictures with the same concessions, same floor, same ceiling but just some gray colored wall panels on the ceiling…seriously?

Man, what a disappointing joke this is. If you add up all the money they've put into renovations/upgrades/the sportsbook, etc. we could have been more than halfway to a new arena. These upgrades do nothing for the attractiveness of the arena. Tear it all down and build a new one before this money is wasted.
