New Uniforms for Tourney

One reason for different uniforms is an expanding stock of things to sell.

Someone who bought a uni 2 years ago now may spend again to get this one.

Imagine if you are an Oregon football fan.

I agree. I like the jerseys, but the pants look like the legs are of different lengths.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a uniform that incorporated 12 stars, one for each championship. For a while we did do that, though it was more of a fabric pattern than obvious stars.

(I really don't care as long as they are composed of Blue and White as the primary colors, with only a smattering of red as highlighting. I really disliked that color rush phase that Nike ran for a while.)

I agree with previous commenters who weren't too keen on the new uniforms. I thought the UCONN was too small on the jersey, and the red patch on the shorts made it look like one leg was riding up, and the compression shorts were showing. But now, it's hard to see any flaws in the uniforms the team was wearing when they took us back to the mountaintop and won number 12!

Yes. They went with that after having one star for each championship on the uniforms for a while. Geno felt like it was too much, so put a star on the back to represent being the current national champion, but they left it on even during gears where they weren't the raining national champion.

You will also see a little gold tag at the collar on the back of the uniform. Nike puts that there for teams that have won a national championship.

Look at the back of the new uniforms, there is no star on the back like the ones worn during the regular season. See link below for verification.

Thanks CL82 and MSGRET. Now I know reason for the star and the gold tag. I didn’t see them during the tournament and wondered where they went. My guess is that Geno had them removed from the new uniforms until the team won the title and demonstrated that they were worthy of having them back on the uniforms.
