You should’ve seen this coming when they opened their pockets to the corporate partners leading up to the 2024 NCAAT.

They're saying nobody can buy additional seats. I'm suggesting the really big donors were allowed to buy additional seats. Either that, or they were encouraged to buy cheap seats the last two years with the promise they'll get whatever they want in May of 2025

This is just my opinion but I think the cooperate sponsors are the main issues. I just doubt people who have given the program $1million+ dropped season tickets.

I know they added some at the $100k level the past year but I would also assume most were in the system and just gave more.

Yes.

They gave corporate sponsors a ton of FF tickets last year and I know one company worked with UConn to get a private suite. Unfortunately it’s the act of doing business, at some point the most loyal folks just become numbers and it gets cut throat.

.-.
for those that have already selected their new seats, how satisfied or upset are you?
The worst of it was the months of pent up anxiety re: what would be available. There were so many seats taken by school folks and other VIPs it just added to the fear.
In the end, our XL seats were equivalent and GP, close enough.

From guys I’ve spoken to, those with questionably grandfathered seats/points got screwed as well as those who still owe on past pledges.

And I’m sure some sponsors are NIL related

Unfortunately we will both be dissapointed.
Not as disappointed as me with my June 5 date. I understand the financial strain and NIL changes. Doesn’t make this any easier. My only solace is that like the old AT&T the cartel will eventually destroy college athletics

I screwed up. We are picking next Thursday, so you're ahead of me.
I am picking next Fri....so, I'll be watching carefully; if I can't what I want in Gampel- then it's Seat Geek for me to go to the games I want....at least their business methods are transparent.

Ah, twinsies. I have June 5 also.

You’ve been with the athletic department a long time like me and seen how fickle this fan base is. Just wait until there’s a program drop off (anyone think Hurley will be a career UConn guy?) and the fair weathers leave, that’s when the fun really starts. If we do get decent seats again I’ll of course do the seat donations but my days of extracurricular donating to the AD are over, no more pledge drives, no more buying and donating bowl game tickets, etc

I picked at 11:39, I'm content although I was thinking I might do better

Good luck people, I'm glad my stress and planning is behind me. I'm telling you, I didn't miss this nonsense the last few years

Big Red is behind me in the next section over. Hopefully they’re not moving him other than to the other side because that’s gonna be a student section now.

.-.
Happened to me when picking, but someone from UConn called and we walked through the selections together
That's good to know. I'm gonna be at the track and it has lousy cell and wi-fi as well as being terribly loud.

Just made my selections. Could not have gone smoother.
30 minutes to select and pay, so don't take more than 25 when selecting

Made my selection a short while ago by phone. The process could not have gone smoother. Did some yoga breathing prior to making the call to reduce my stress level. LOL.

How does that work with your rep? You give them preferred sections and rows and they give you option of best available ?

One thing consistent with the University's recent actions seems to be is the disruption of the status quo. It apparently was viewed that maintaining the Seat for Life promised policy, did not produce the desired increasing revenue levels, hence the change in the first place. While we weathered both incremental ticket and seat donation increases over the recent years to keep our seats, that froze out other income streams. What they may be hoping for is that many take the bump to the 200 level with a smile, just happy to be in the building after 2 NC’s; while the new income streams the consultants are selling them can occur. My guess is they may get their wish of disrupting the status quo, but once you accomplish that there may be unexpected consequences that go in the wrong direction from the university perspective. Does this approach towards its most loyal fans weather bad season storms well? Does it attract more the fair weather fan?

Reliability vs. bells and whistles fans after NC type seasons. Be careful UConn, which one you pick. I know myself, I have set some parameters, and if those conditions are not met during seating, I will walk away. Perhaps Seat Geeks is now their new type season ticket holder?
Chief you're 6 months too late here. Sit there and take it like the rest of us.

FYI no one selected today or on Monday
I just noticed that there were no selections today. I assumed no selection Monday if they need reps available to help.

I am wondering when they will accelerate the selection process. So far, less than 100 seats per day are being selected. The selection rate needs to triple or quadruple at some point if they want the process to be done by June 17. Maybe the assumption is that people with higher priority point totals are likely having to choose at two locations and possibly for both men's and women's seats.

We will see - things need to play out but what is known is the starting point of the process, and that was disappointing.

Correct. And those half-empty corporate seats will look great on TV.

We don’t matter. Until the team is in a downturn and then all of sudden it’s “we need you back even though you’re poor”
Your comment about half empty corporate seats looking bad on TV may be the reason they switched the benches to the side the cameras are on. Harder to see which seats are empty when you're looking down on them from behind.
