Disappointed in new seats

Your comment about half empty corporate seats looking bad on TV may be the reason they switched the benches to the side the cameras are on. Harder to see which seats are empty when you're looking down on them from behind.
won't the cameras also move so they face the new benches?

I think it is because they put what they are calling "suites" at floor level on the side where the benches used to be. You can see the layout on the seat selection website. I think the suites themselves will be under sections 115 and 116 with a tunnel leading out to the seats.

Did my selection today. Basically the same exact seats at XL and a section worse at Gampel. Not happy not upset.
How long did you have to look? Was it like 10 minutes to choose your seats? I’m expecting similar where I don’t do as good at Gampel but same at XL

Once you pick a seat you have 30 minutes

Sections 116 and 117 on the aisle between them at GP are really good seats. Especially the first 8 rows or so. Near the UConn bench with a great view.

I sat there for several years and loved them. Everyone who sat there loved them. Section 114 would offer the same view of the court, but you're not near the uconn bench

As Cief00 said, it is very odd to be top 15% in Priority Points and not in the first 50% selection days. Wut up?
That’s exactly what the intent was.

Less than 100 seats per day are currently being purchased at Gampel, at least in the lower bowl. Based on my priority points (also in top 15%), I should have picked today or tomorrow. I picked this morning. Actual time slot is not so important as long as you get the correct place in line. When I saw my selection time, I thought I was really screwed, until I saw how slowly seats were being selected. At some point, they need to accelerate selection process. I am guessing once lower bowl is projected to be gone, it will increase, then increase again when inventory is down to just bleachers.

My seats are marginally better in both locations. My Gampel seats from last year were still available. My XL seats from last year were demolished to make way for new Loge seating. Selection process was simple, just like annual upgrade process. Only hiccup was that system froze up when making my first selection. I needed to refresh and then everything went smooth. I would recommend that if you are using Edge, clear your browser history before logging in for your selection.

Had forever family seats since 1965 until 2023 - Never thought UConn would treat people who spent so much for so long like crap. Spoke with Benedict about it before we cancelled and he more or less told us to pound sand.
Now I sit and watch it on the big screen without the traffic and the cold. Not my preference but it has allowed us to travel a bit more!!!
I feel for all those who have lost their seats, especially when the term "forever seats" was used even by DB himself. True Colors.
I'm not upset anymore just glad my father didn't have to deal with this crap.

I was picking for women's seats yesterday, around noon. Four seats each venue. The priority points put us in the 7% at XL and top 9% at Gampel ( I am wondering how I ended up in the middle of the second week...).

Over the years I had picked single seats here and there and ended with four in section 103 in Hartford, all in the first six rows. At Gampel, we were all in 116, again all in the first seven rows with great views of the bench.

The seats at Gampel are similar, no complaints. In Hartford, all our seats were wiped out by the "Institutional Obligations". Probably because they moved the UConn bench right in front of us. I had expected more, and better seats would be available when I picked, because XL has more seats. Not so. Sideline sections had very few available below the 10th row.

A complication that limited selection was the new rule that you couldn't pick seats that would leave a single seat in the row. I was picking four seats. No good seats were available in fours. So I was looking at 2 and 2, hopefully close to each other.

There were six pairs where I could have gotten good seats, but each was a block of three seats. It was a little frustrating. I also wonder how many would be looking for three seats. Somebody picking far behind might get premium seats because of that technicality. What I ended with was 2 and 2 in row L of 103.

Good luck, everybody.

My selection time is in a week. How are people seeing what is currently available or not?

The real slap in the face to long-time supporters when they switched to the seat donation model is that they effectively diluted old priority points by 90%. Pre-2018, it was 1 point per $100 donated. Now it is 10 points per $100. For the most part, priority points meant almost nothing over the past 6 - 7 years, until the current re-seating process.

When they announced the seat donation model, one of the Assistant ADs called me to sell the model. One selling point was the increased priority points. I asked her what do the priority points do for me. She could not provide a response.

I will be looking at 3 seats. Unless it hinders us, then we'll go to 2.

I hold on to the thought that someone had a "brilliant" idea.
Two problems:
1. Needed to upgrade seating, at the very least to add handrails and dangerous trippy steps.
2. Needed a reason to unseat the forever arses.
Problems solved!

....Oh, do you think they'll be mad?

That is because the selection goes by donor level category, then point totals in the donor level. Basically, someone who donated $100,000 for the first time last year will pick ahead of someone who has been donating $25,000 a year for 30 years.

That's not completely accurate. For seat selection, they are going by cumulative priority points, not donor category. The issue is that post 2018 priority points are worth 10X more than the older priority points. Before seat donation model, you got 1 PP per $100 donated. Now you get 10 points per $100.

The reason for the later selection time is that the number of people selecting now is limited to somewhere in the range of 25 - 35 per location. At some point, the number of people selecting per day needs to accelerate.

Edit: You get 5 points for every $100 of seat donation. I assume majority of donations are through seat donations and not through straight cash donations. So, old priority points were diluted by a factor of 5, not a factor of 10 for most donors. Still, it's a slap in the face for long-time donors.

You may want to check your math.
