Is an NCAA violation part of the Hagemann story here? NCAA bylaw 13.10.2.1 states, in part, “Before the signing of a prospective student-athlete to a National Letter of Intent or an institution’s written offer of admission and/or financial aid … a member institution may comment publicly only to the extent of confirming its recruitment of the prospective student-athlete.” My understanding (open to being corrected) is that recruiting rules apply to transfers.

After Hagemann committed to Ole Miss, Coach Yo released a statement about her:

“I’m incredibly excited about the addition of DeeDee, McPhee-McCuin said in an official statement on Saturday. “I was able to form a relationship with her and her family during Covid, so we picked up right where we left off once she went into the portal. DeeDee is a dynamic guard that can score but loves to facilitate and set her teammates up for success. She’s also a competitor that will fit right into our defensive system.”

If Hagemann had signed with Ole Miss, it would be too late now to re-enter the portal, correct? But if she hadn't signed with Ole Miss, then Coach Yo should not have released a statement about her, correct? Curious situation. Open to being corrected.

Unless she asked to be released from her letter.

How good a player is D Hagemann? I can’t imagine UM dropping her. She filled a position of need for them.

All-B1G second team player. Good balance of offense and defense. She'd be in the mix for at least All-SEC HM.

She's been a second team all Big 10. Not sure if you meant Mich State or Ole Miss, but I doubt Mich State asked her to leave.

I believe she visited LSU before committing to Ole Miss too. But we filled our guard needs now.

Position: Road Runner. Now that's a new one! :D
I heard coach Thibault-DuDonis (who is one of my favorite young coaches) explain that term on a podcast. She said there is almost a stigma to being considered a rim runner (post) among many young players today when so much attention is on perimeter players. She tasked her husband/assistant coach to come up with another term, and he came up with road runner. At some point, among team members, that got organically changed to meep meeps, referring to the iconic cartoon character's only noise. Now, that has been shortened to Meeps.

And, now you know more than you ever wanted to know about why Fairfield has a position they formally call Road Runner. :D

Thibault-DuDonis is a real up and comer in coaching ranks. If she decides to leave Fairfield at some point, I'd love to see her in the Big East. I think her system would be a great fit there, but I'm sure she can adapt to other styles. That five-out-offense sure is fun to watch, though.

Love the creativity and how the team has adopted the concept. I low-key geek out on tidbits like this.

Also, I'm in agreement re Coach Thibault-DuDonis. She's worked her way up with two different programs (Miss State and Minnesota) and has done well since becoming a HC. Looking forward to seeing how a Canadian Cyanne John will fair in her system. She's an athletic forward/wing who I think will thrive there.

It's been quiet, but some more transfer commitments are coming through. Michigan added some depth to their post position here.

Did she transfer from another US college, or did she transfer from Russia?

Has there been any updates on this. Only been a month. But is she playing college ball next year.
A friend and I were talking about this last week. Haven't seen any updates. Considering the report noted she was talking to several schools, it seems odd nothing has been announced yet.

Seeing players in college have agents is just hilarious . I remember people (many) saying for years that they all should get paid. All it took was just plain old greed by stealing their name, image and likeness.
