I don't see Gianna Kneepkens at either SC or Texas. Too much of a logjam of players, especially SC. This might look like a promising situation for her. Lexy Keys is gone. Verhulst and Kneepkens on the wings would create a lot of space for Beers and Sahara Williams. Their uptempo style is appealing to offensive minded players.

UCLA would also be a nice landing spot. Lauren Betts would be quite happy. Londynn Jones was not a consistent outside threat, although she could be streaky.

Oregon returns 11 players but only 2 are taller than 6’2”. So this is a surprise to me. Avary Cain joins a handful of other 6’1” wings and a bunch of 5’10”-6’0”guards. Graves throwing out the Phillipina Kyei playbook and going back to a high scoring, speed offense. Needs another speedy big 6’3” or 6’4”.

I personally like this signing better than the Gracie Merkle signing. Good get for UVa.

For a guy who recommended several restaurants to me in Winston-Salem years ago, that's not simply not going to get you a cordial served around dinner on the porch this spring! Plus, we're at 5 ( count rehabbing Leah Macy coming aboard)! :rolleyes::rolleyes:

We'll see if some folks are visiting this weekend. Coach Ivey can drive you to the ends of your patience on this front, but she is thorough and has brought in good results in the portal before. The trouble is -- at least this year -- she needs at least four or five people.

Now, about that refreshing adult beverage? ;)

BTW, I like Cowles. Tall, athletic and runs well, which would fit in well with Hidalgo, Prosper and Bransford. Cowles played well against ND this year, which Ivey undoubtedly noticed. That's what got Liatu King noticed by Coach Ivey last year, too.

Yes, she had hip surgery and never played this season at NC State. She had a great career at BU and I hope she recovers fully from her surgery and finds success at UVA.
 
Don’t know about the money, but their coach has an impressive résumé. Known for quickly turning around struggling programs.
 
Oregon adds two more players from the portal. After adding 6' 1" Freshman Avary Cain from UCLA, the Ducks have received transfers from 5' 9" Kosovo native and Washington State senior guard Astera Tuhina and from 6' 2" Aussie forward Mia Jacobs, Senior out of Fresno State.

Tuhina was a 35 game starter for WSU averaging 8.0 pts, 3.2 Assists, and 37.3% from Three.
Mia Jacobs, a 34 game starter, led Fresno State with 18.3 ppg and 14.1 Reb. Shot 38 % from Three.
This brings Oregon to 14 on next years roster (minus any as yet unknown portal defections).

After losing everyone from that great 2020 recruiting class, Kelly Graves looks fully engaged in the new Wild West NIL/Portal days. Nike money paying dividends? It appeared that Kelly's run was over, but it looks like he's in resurrection mode.

I know Graves wants to get back to the high powered offensive game he prefers. He is building a speed roster with improved 3 pt capability not sure how NIL affects these two latest foreign players however. Aren’t there NIL restrictions on overseas players?

So far as I know, yes. Their Visa does not permit them to work, per se. Arizona's foreign players that graduated in 2024 were able to create and sell shirts they designed and also to earn money from a meet and autograph event, although I don't know the details (donations? charge? for what?) as we didn't attend. But definitely no NIL for them.
 
Oregon now has 5 foreign players: a German, a Luxemburger, a Swede, an Aussie, and a Kosovan. They do get “goody bags” from Nike regularly. Maybe there is a workaround from Nike in their native countries.
i expect the Ducks to add one more… a big hopefully. Arizona transfer Breya Cunningham had Oregon as a finalist out of high school. Maybe I am daydreaming. No insight on that.
