An observation from someone on the outside looking in. I'm afraid I'll have to agree with 01Neaggrad02. I read it the same way. I've written several posts that did not read the way I intended it to. I got called out on them.
I knew what I was trying to say, but after re-reading it, I saw how it could be perceived differently. Readers don't know what we mean, unless we write it so there is absolutely no way it can be misconstrued. Those instances made me focus more on how I was writing, and how it would be perceived. I've also learned that when a poster makes a comment on one of my posts, not to take it personally. That was not the case when I first joined the yard. I've become a much better writer since.
I realize you are comfortable with the way you wrote your subject line, but you must also be aware of the way it's read and perceived by others. The mod adding a question mark at the end made it read completely different. Perception is reality. Two people looking at the same hand gun will see it differently, depending on which end of it they're looking at. The guy looking down the barrel will come away with a completely different point of view than the person holding it.
YOU know what you were trying to say when you wrote it, but it was not perceived by others that way when they read it. Write whatever way you wish, but be prepared to be challenged by readers if/when they have a problem with your choice of delivery.
