New League Proposal

I dont think this super league will ever happen. There will always be too many politicians who object to their alma mater or school in their constituency to let it occur.

This is more like a threat that something has to be done to sort the money out and if Congress doesn't fix it this perverted beast is what will happen.

There doesn't even need to be an announcement to do it.

They will starve you of oxygen until you submit.

The B1G and SEC can say "We're only be playing each other from now on."

The TV networks will then pay accordingly.

You won't have any money for your San Diego St. versus South Florida game.

Especially now when colleges are in an existential crisis, and NIL requires huge payouts. Hardly any of these schools are going to make a playoff.

They will starve you out of existence long before the politicians have figured out what's going on.

The only question remaining is: what happens to the NCAA tournament?

Right. More money is the end goal. The means of getting more money is tightening their grip on control. Control the market first and then divvy up the spoils. A duopoly.

If our team were a bit stronger having another home and away series with NC State would be good, though after the last 2 years of playing us they probably want bigger fish to fry.

This will end up in court, and the Big 10 and SEC are very likely to lose, and lose badly. Their stance on this is baffling, because even a modest accommodation would result in most of the Big 10 and SEC dominating a much bigger pie of college sports revenue. Instead they are pursuing a path that could destroy everything.
