New helmets

Apparently someone w/ access to the helmets feels the same way we do about them so they're just putting them up for sale in the hopes no one notices they're disappearing.....

Is that the prototype helmet created for the unveiling? If so, that's easily a collectible.

Block 'C' with a small husky logo on the back.

Never put your name on the helmet, so no 'UConn'. Schiano said it when he debuted the block 'R', "if you put your name on your helmet you are admitting you are small time."

And get away from the fourclops look. Or at least use the blue helmets. The white helmet is just no good.

The idea of unifying UConn’s sports across the board with similar logos was a good idea. I don’t even mind the red piping as most of the uniforms from the 1990’s had some red in them (before gray/silver began to pop up). I held back my opinion on the helmets, though they looked like something my 7 year old would come-up with until I saw them on TV. After seeing them on TV, they (along with most of the football coaching staff) must go. The new Husky logo should be on the shoulder and maybe a small one on the front and back collars. Go with the Black C on the helmet (red piping around the white C may not be too bad instead of gray piping that was used?) or go back to the 1990’s style blue helmet with the white with red piping ‘UCONN’ on the helmet.

Here’s hoping that the new helmet and Coach P last as long as ‘new” Coke did…

As I am still 50/50 about the new Husky logo (the old Husky was not ‘fierce;’ but, after 30+ years, 3 men’s basketball title, 8 women’s title, 2 men soccer titles, and a Fiesta Bowl visit, the old was UConn), I would go with #3 or #5.

I like the block C and I like the UCONN. The Husky face is too something. Just doesn't look right for some reason. I don't love mascots on the helmets to begin with unless it is very stylized (Iowa's hawkey or USC's Trojan work. As a rule, profiles work better than head on shots like this one. LSU's tiger never grabbed me, though it is almost an afterthought.) Also, I'd add a white stripe down the middle of the helmet...maybe white outlined with red.

@BugsyCT Check these out... Also got carried away with Photoshop while watching CFB today. Added in the ribbon that's on the bottom of the seal from the Connecticut state flag. Think doing something to signify that UConn is the state's flagship universtiy and our state's team would be good in any helmet redesign since the Block C is now gone.

Whoa. I kinda like the blue, white (without the red facemask), and even the camo one looks wild. Gray one is OK. Too much red on a couple of them though. I think in retrospect folks would like simplicity in college football logos, so an initial like "C" or "UC", or even the word UCONN would probably be better than the husky dog on the helmet (or if it was, would need to be utilized right - the way it's used now on the current helmet looks nuts).

I don't know guys, but having this opposite from you on the line. Isn't this intimidating?? I'm not liking the red outline.. I think the outline maybe needs to start after the eyes and blends in with the blue on back..
