Good to see Stewart pick it up. He played well and was assertive on offense and played decent D. Rebounded well too. Besides Karban nobody else played well. What is up with Ball and those horrible alley-oop passes? He needs to clean that up soon.

With Reed that’s a 40 point game and we wouldn’t be saying anything negative, really. Reibe had one rebound and his guy put up 17 - wouldn’t happen against Tarris. New Haven played hard and I’m sure the coaches will take things and learn - especially help D and ironing out the “new” offense to balance plays and playmaking

I expected more from a top 5 team against a team playing their first division 1 game … was that wrong?

Also what is happening at practice that is causing so many players to get hurt. 4 injuries in practice before the season starts is pretty crazy.

Have a feeling Koroma may surpass Reibe in the rotation before long. 1 rebound is pretty insane, and his offensive game which is supposed to be a strong suit was rather nonexistent.

Tougher game than predicted. Pasha, Adeleye and George looked good. Too much penetration by New Haven.

Stewart had good offensive and rebounding game. Ross had nice steal and dunk and great block. Still win by 25 even with below average shooting by Ball.

I take this as they went from playing Michigan st to playing unh they weren't in it mentally.the only guy that was of course was the senior leader.

Perimeter defense iffy. Solo same passer and same 80% speed cutter. We remain a team that weirdly struggles at close range. Those lead my concerns.

Positive Smith looks like he has penetration skills, Silas looks like he's got a bit of a bag, and...well...I guess that's it. Will reserve judgement until we have 5 or 6 games under our belt with Reed.

Koroma clearly played better D against New Haven's big guy. Reibe needs a little more muscle to be effective inside on both sides of the ball.

Good to throw a scare into them. It’s inevitable that they’ll be cocky and this game was an excellent lesson. Fearless teams with quick guards can be tough to play. New Haven has a nice little squad. Obviously short handed but the level of execution has to be a lot better.

We’re still missing a lock down wing defender like Jackson or Castle. Mullins will help with his scoring - but our defense won’t be great. I guess we can keep hoping Ross will figure it out - but sometimes it feels like one step forward, two steps back.
Ross great first half on D and then was getting manhandled on drives in the 2nd half.

UNH never had a chance, but they did a good job not getting completely destroyed up until the end. We had a (relatively) rough first 28 minutes, missed a lot of open shots in the paint and from the perimeter. But telling myself it'll all be good when Braylon/Tarris are back

I can't wait for the day Hurley tells Silas to go get buckets. He's playing a super facilitator role, similar to Newton when he first got here. But we know the scoring is there and waiting to come out

Really solid game from Stewart. Well rounded in the first half and came out with a mission to score to start the second

Ross was a DOG on defense. Wish we saw more offensively, although he did have a 3 taken away because of a Reibe offensive foul

Malachi can get to the rim at will, just needs to slow down and stay in control. He hit a late floater instead of forcing it to the rim and then hit a 3 right after when the defense went under the screen. Good to see the adjustments, better late than never!

Maybe an unpopular take tonight but I'm excited for Reibe. I don't care that he got scored on a lot, he was playing good defense and gets in good positions offensively. He needs to make quicker decisions with the ball and needs to be stronger on the boards, but he'll be really good when he figures those two things out

Solo and Karaban had a combined 8 points on 2-9 shooting before their threes late in the first half. Solo came alive and exploded early in the second half while Karaban was quiet until 6-7 minutes to go. They both ended with a lot of points (AK 19 and Solo 18) but definitely not the offensive dominance I thought we'd get

But at the end of the day, THE HUSKIES ARE BACK BABY! Let's go UConn!

We got the win. Nothing really stood out. JS flashed at times. Ross looked serviceable. Really need TR on the floor.
