OSU is 3-2 with close losses to ND and Duke (5 and 7 points). I'll be very curious to see how Nevada plays after playing UCONN so hard in the 2nd half. I think their coach certainly has the team on a great trajectory. Give them a few highly rated recruits in the future, and they will be a player. Hope they win!

The game is in Hawaii at midnight ET. That can be a game equalizer.

Thanks for the heads up. It's in Wailuku on Maui. I wish it were at the Lahaina Civic Center, like the men's Thanksgiving tourney. I may head over there tonight. It's about 25 miles or 45 minutes. The Lahaina Civic Center is only about 2 miles.

What a life you lead! You should head over, and of course advise us on the scouting report!

That's my plan. I'm not sure I'll make the 5:00 game, but the 7:00 OSU v. Nevada game sounds appealing.

Btw, when are you hitting NYC again?

Both teams are from Pacific time zone, so it should effect them the same I would guess.

Sorry BYers, but I'm rooting for OSU. My parents and various other extended family members went to school there.

On the Geno Show ballyhooed in a couple of other threads Geno said the starters essentially left the building after the 1st quarter of that Nevada game ... "the energy was gone." They just wanted to get home.

I didn't read this close enough. Not even sure what the local time is for the game in Hawaii, but Pacific time zone it's 9 pm. That's a bit late, but 7 or 8 pm tip times are fairly normal. The game time is less of an issue than the travel getting out to the islands.

7 PM in Hawaii, though 7:30 may be more realistic. The first game is at 5:00.

I’m on my way now, but the traffic between Kaanapali and Wailuku is terrible. The 28 miles will take me over an hour.

Bummer about the traffic. Have fun at the game.

Traffic eased up some, but Google maps took me to the wrong side of the complex. I just made the start.

26-13 in favor of OSU. They are bigger and better. The main difference is they hit several corner threes.

Just looking at box score, Nevada isn't hitting any shots and has only taken one 3 pointer so far. 31% shooting, Beavers leading 35-15 about 3 minutes into the 2nd quarter.

OSU had close losses in their 2 biggest games so far (Notre Dame, Duke), but has been squashing the rest of their opponents. I still think they'll be in the thick of the Pac 12 race this year.

The coaches are casual. Scott is wearing a black polo. Amanda is wearing shorts and a T-short.

I’m in the 2nd row on the baseline, about 5’ from the court. Lots of TALL girls.

OSU has some really, really big girls.

Wait til next year! They lose Gulic but return Grymek and get Aquino and Morris. They'll have 3 player 6-7+. They've got pretty good size on the wings too w/ Tudor and McWilliams.

48-24 at the half. Nevada shooting 26%. Only made 1 from behind the arc so far.

What a beatdown by OSU! Halftime score very similar to the score vs. UCONN...

At first, I was feeling short, but then I saw Scott. ;)

The OSU defense is long and physical, but their zone should leave open shots. Nevada can’t do much inside and is giving up points in the paint on the other end. King hasn’t taken one shot from outside, though she swished one that didn’t count. I’m wanting to see her shoot.

I just moved to behind the Nevada bench to balance the crowd. Lots of orange shirts here. (Not THAT shade of orange.)

Not sure of the crowd size, but it’s in the hundreds. I think the arena holds 2,000.

If they played all three at once the would have a front line that averaged 6'8". Even with all that size the big addition next year might be Destiny Slocum. Pivec hasn't played Point since before high school. She is growing into the position but she still often plays like a shooting guard. They will be really solid next year.

OSU tosses the ball inside then kicks it out to an open shooter. Splash for 3.

Amanda wasn’t happy and called a TO.

Yeah that would be a huge lineup. I'm not sure they'll even play 2 of them together real often, have to wait and see. Gulic is having a nice season, they'll definitely miss her. Bring everybody else back though plus get Slocum and several recruits.

So if I may ask, is this home for you, or vacation? More than a little jealous here...
