This will have ramifications for the rest of the FCS and non-football schools outside the top 10 conferences.
I mean good for them but that’s just calling it game over. No G5 conference will ever call them up. Which is fine if that’s what you want.

Do you think they care?

lol.

They win a national championship every year and you think they care about a call up to some marginal conference no one cares about? They do not.

I don't understand how they have never been added despite winning all of these championships. Is FCS really that worthless

Winning national championships in a de facto division 2 isn’t something the casual viewer cares about either. I don’t know, nor care, who wins d2 basketball championships.

But like I said, if they’re happy doing that forever then all power to them!

Casual viewer maybe, but the fanbase certainly does. They draw very well.

Because they know themselves and don't see the value in moving up.

Look. App state, Georgia southern. Schools like those absolutely thought they could march in and move up in the sport to the top 25. Occasionally they do for a little while like USF. But it never works. NDSU gets that

Big Sky and Missouri Valley football have a pretty good thing going. Great rivalries all over, do really well locally, some casual recognition for schools in middle America even if not as big as FBS.

Don't know for certain, but my guess is they don't carry nearly as much debt as a mid-tier G5 program. Lots of posters here complain about how college sports have changed, yet when a school or group of schools decide to reject those changes we hear a dismissive "well, if that's what they want", as if it's a negative.

UConn fans want UConn to be a big time school. You and I think that's more realistic than Syracuse of Memphis but so it goes
