Funny, I read that as a compliment to Geno/UConn -- am I missing the context? Were they talking about their team?
same here... but I thought it was just "Boneyard viewing and thinking"

Maybe. But TN does not have much of a track record developing point guards so I would not expect a lot of improvement.

Two words: Michelle Marciniak

The announcer showed Tenn. upcoming schedule ( all SEC games), and commented that Tenn. plays everyone.

We all know, not everyone....

Heck of a game at South Bend tonight.

Does the loser still have inside track to a second seed in the regionals?

They were talking about TN. I read it as a compliment to Geno, too.
I will have to take a look and see the context and who said it. But it would totally shock me if a regular there had anything positive to say about Geno.

I was torn watching this game. I hadn't realized how much coaching roles had changed until tonight. I just couldn't build up that feeling of joy that I usually have when a team I like takes down TN.

We shall see...ND is ranked 2 and they (TN) lost on the road. Likely not, but i wouldn't rule it out

Did she really DEVELOP much at TN? And you are talking about someone who played more than 15 years ago. Is that a good track record?

I guess, now that I look at the numbers, it has been 15 years. TN has had other PGs (though not in the last 4 years), but if you want to spin the story of lack of success at the position, have at it.

(on Edit) and yes, Michelle transferred to TN and developed into a very fine player. It happens. It's not all bad there.

Hornbuckle was a heck of a guard, always did well against UConn. And Bobitt won two NCs...and played in the WNBA.

Hornbuckle usually outplayed her former teammate, Montgomery, IIRC.

Marciniak was a transfer to UT pat did not develop her skill set she already had it when she transferred to UT that's why pat wanted her so bad. She got schooled by Rizzoti and uconn twice in one year!

Just tried to get on the The Summitt and this came up...

OK you win. Time for me to go

Hornbuckle was not a PG, much more of a 2 guard. But yes she was very good. Bobbitt was the point guard on that team and was good too for a couple of years in her role, but she had a team mate named Parker.

Also a juco transfer to UT. Tenn gave her nothing she did not already have! R.E. Bobbit

I got to see some of the game! It is clear that that one person mainly is doing the coaching for UT, and it's not PHS. I suppose you could see that on the TV. In any case, this must have been a long time coming. I think that the change in her personality came about 4 years ago, and that the whole crazy blowup may have been related to it. I'm probably making too much of it, but it was completely nonsensical. I never understood it. So sad. Bless her.

28-18 at the half. ND leads.

TN shoots 20% for the half. ND not a lot better.

TN half court offense is awful to non-existent.

I expect ND will get their rhythm in the 2nd half and win this game by 25 points.

I predicted a 22 point win yesterday.

And you were close, OC!!

ND being called tonight for many of the things they should have been called for against us.
In a blowout, research has shown the officiating is more even than when the game is close and the home team needs some help.

there's a few... actually a lot who says he prepares his players to give 100%. They dont care about his character as a person. They dont knock his coaching ability
