NCAA Tourney games

Louisville tried their darndest to lose the game to Alabama, missing critical free-throw after critical free-throw, but they ended up with the win.
Smart coaching by Walz to tell Scott to miss the last one to the right. Forced Alabama to make a half court heave instead of being able to make an inbounds pass.

We've had several close 2nd round games but home court has won out every time. Right now we're 9-9 for top 4 seeds making the Sweet 16. Iowa is currently up by 9 entering the 4th.

Of the remaining games we have:
South Carolina vs. USC
UCONN vs. Syracuse
UCLA vs. Oklahoma State
Vanderbilt vs. Illinois
West Virginia vs. Kentucky
Ohio State vs. Notre Dame

Any of the top 3 losing would be grounds for being among the bigger upsets in NCAA history.

Vanderbilt losing would be a shocker too.

The last 2 are toss ups IMO. Both should be battles.

Iowa/UVA game proving the importance of being able to hit your FTs…

I think SCar will likely prove to be too much for USC, unless Jazzy goes off and gets a 40 piece tonight. As for OU vs SCar … I just don’t think OU is that impressive, but considering they beat SCar once already this season, maybe …

Virginia advances to its first Sweet 16 in 26 years with an 83-75 upset of 2-seed Iowa in front of 15,000 stunned fans in only the 9th multiple-OT game in NCAA Tournament history.

I can't believe it has been that long since Virginia won two games in a row in the NCAAT.

Huge win for that once-proud program and for the ACC.

What a great win for Virginia. Congratulations. Keep movin on.
Just because of how scrappy UVA is and how they pulled out that win (and at Iowa no less), I'll root for them in the next game.

Can you elaborate on this? Wasn't able to watch the game because you know... my job.
Refs called excessive contact that was reviewed. She was down on court, holding her throat, and iMO, the UVA player got her in the chest. IN addition, at 2 OT tip off, an Iowa player undercut a VA player and it wasn't called. Doesn't matter, cuz the Hoos won!

To add — UVA was the first group of 4 team to win a NCAA tourney game. Now they’ve won 2! No matter what happens here on out, they should hold their heads high. A marvelous tournament for them.

Being a 2 seed at home hasn’t been kind to Iowa. They’ve lost twice in the last five tournaments.

This loss will be really disappointing to Iowa fans but it’s disappointing because Iowa outperformed expectations almost all year. No one had them as a 2 seed coming into the season. Some people say your seed doesn’t mean anything, but it’s a marker of your body of work. Agree next year they’ve got to break through to the second weekend but I like where they’re going

I think another thing husky98 was frustrated about was that the foul was called on review, not live. UVA had the rebound and, iirc, were already down the court. Stulke was still down on Iowa's end of the court but then ran all the way down to the other end and got the rebound after a missed shot by UVA.

Great win for Virginia, but has me thinking that Duke got a raw deal with being paired with L$U vs Iowa, Michigan or even Vanderbilt

I find it ironic they've gotten further than Lattimore did with Ole Miss. Coach Mox did a lot for her with respect to helping improve her overall game in that one season.

Iowa killing multiple parlays since 4/23/26. Won't be trusting them next season. Anyway I think UVA has a great chance vs TCU. The Frogs didn't impress me last night at all, haven't been too impressed with them all season. It would be crazy if UVA went further in the bracket than any other ACC school

Hannah is dismantling tOSU, one of her best all-around games. And the worst part is that tOSU seems not to have developed any scout on her when she has the ball. They regularly allow her to go to her right. In my book, a team as poorly prepared as tOSU appears to be doesn't deserve to win. Otherwise, their personnel is superior to ND. They ought to win this game. But they won't.

Hold up, we're in April???? Damn, I'm behind on filing my taxes!!!! 😉

And to the post by @triaddukefan about putting respect on the ACC's name, Duke and Notre Dame were seen as dead in the water earlier this season. Now, they're both in the Sweet Sixteen, wallopping both Baylor and Ohio State respectively. Anyone questioning the coaching abilities of Coach Lawson and Coach Ivey now???
