NCAA Tourney games

It's not like I thought Texas Tech had any chance, but this is pathetic. Michigan-NC State turned into a laugher in the 2nd half as well. Maybe in the 3rd Round we'll get some competitive games?
Probably good gamesin the Elite 8. Might be under 20 in the Sweet 16.

It will definitely be a talking point if all 16 home teams advance.

I don’t know about how your bracket looks. But Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Maryland were the only road teams I predicted would advance. And now I only have Kentucky left. Other possible upsets… maybe Washington? I don’t even know who it could be tbh.
Well, I didn't even fill out a bracket. So I'm perfect!

I'd be really surprised if Washington pulls the upset today.

Duke and LSU blasting two big 12 teams right now is making the conference look like it isn’t as strong as the other 3 majors. So, maybe tcu and West Virginia are in danger.

Too slow, but an immovable object. Can not guard at a high level at all. Can you imagine her trying to defend Strong?
We were watching her play last night, as I previously saw clips of her not playing much defense. I love her deft footwork around the rim. Perhaps you are correct, however WNBA GMs sometimes see things we don't. I guess we'll find out in April.

I think you are talking about Crooks? She has one more year of eligibility.

I also don’t see her as a wnba player.

Yup, my bad. No idea why I thought she was a senior.

If Duke blows this lead..I'll definitely be sick to my stomach.

Duke is beating down lsu next week. The tigers won’t be able to handle this pressure defense

LSU beat Duke handily early in the season, but the Devils were really struggling back then. Obviously have improved. LSU runs up the score any time they can, so their MOV might look impressive. To me they still have a lot to prove. 1-5 this year against South Carolina, Texas, Vandy and Kentucky. They really haven't shown much ability to beat the better teams.

I still like both of their chances of getting to the Sweet 16. Both of their opponents are inconsistent, and home court counts.

Duke will be the heavy favorite against lsu the way Duke is playing right now

Okananwa was asked about that at the post-game and she said that she likes to be coached hard like that. She had nothing but praise for Frese.

Both 2 seeds they dont play next week
Duke is a 3 seed. They play lsu next week. I expect Duke to win

Duke is a much better team and lsu has lost all games of significance vs better teams. While they have good players the coaching is lacking and they have not showing they can handle the pressure

Duke 74
LSU 62

Risked channel flipping out my Cyclone MBB game for a couple of minutes to catch the end of my local Gopher gals game. Risk was rewarded with this shot of the day to win it. Crowd in the The Barn sounded electric. Been a while, 20 years since last Sweet Sixteen.

Don't know why I thought Duke was 2 seed

Oregon hung in there for a while, but Texas has run away. Up 30 thru Q3. Booker has scored 32. Oregon only has 42 as a team.

Are we on a record pace for number of players w/ 30 point games?

.-.
So far today 4 out of 6 games are blow outs. About as lopsided as Day 1 games were.

Hmm. Booker was playing pretty late in this game. She got up to 40 points. Texas won 100-58. I don't think they needed her on the floor much in Q4 but she was still playing. Logged 35 minutes. They went 11 deep, so I don't think there is a lack of depth argument.

As for Texas Oregon, I was left scratching my head how on earth Oregon rated a #8 seed the way they played. I get that Texas plays tough D, but most of the first half turnovers were self-inflicted. And so many missed layups that didn’t even look like basketball shots. After awhile I found myself yelling at the screen, “Katie, stop passing the ball to your so-called teammates. You’re going to have to carry this team all by yourself.” Such a waste of a substantial talent by Kelly Graves.

Analogous things could be said about many Big10 and Big12 teams. We are very far from anything resembling parity, and some of it can probably be attributed to the NIL/portal concentrating talent too much.

By contrast, the OU-Mich St game looks like a classic tournament game. Very intense, very competitive into the third quarter.

I don't have a dog in the fight...but Michigan St. is getting EVERY call in this game in Q3. The crowd in Norman is getting very restless, led by Mr. Beers.
