I did not expect Creighton to put up almost 50 points in the first half. Very good first half for them. It's not over, but they don't need to do too much to close this game out.

On the other screen, High Point is being really stingy. I don't think they'll be able to keep it up, but they're hanging in with Purdue right now.

Is Ashworth Mormon (he went to Utah State)? It wouldn't be that weird that he's a father if he's Mormon...pretty common that they start families in their early 20s.

Which Thursday game thread is the “Officially Licensed” Thursday game thread? We have some knock-offs floating around on the ‘Yard.

The only reason I started this one was because I didn't see one, but I think I had a cached version of the forum and missed two other threads that got posted earlier. So I'm happy to have this one closed - if a mod can do it.

I'm glad I didn't buy the hype on High Point. Purdue looks like they're going to easily win that game.

Kalkbrenner not used to that moving screen (that he does all the time) being called a foul.
I thought the exact same thing when that foul was called. Kalkbrenner gets away with the moving screens off the ball so much. Every basketball game will have some moving screens that don't get called, that's inevitable, but Kalkbrenner does it a ton. You will see that if you watch him instead of the ball on certain plays.

Creighton does some things to keep their fouls down that are interesting, such as not reaching or setting a lot of ball screens (although Kalk picked up one on a ball screen). I wonder if other teams will adopt them.

It ends up being a trade off between traditional defensive pressure and staying out of foul trouble.

Creighton actually earning foul calls on their drives to the rim.

If we get that treatment we'll be in good shape.

Refs have really changed the way they are calling this. They are letting Louisville really bump the guy with the ball, sometimes knocking the guy back 4 or 5 feet.
