High Point is in this game. I expect Purdue will just wear them down at some point.
I'm surprised they're hanging close. I fully expect Purdue to pull away in the last 5 minutes, but it's definitely a good game.

Jamiya Neal is really good. This Creighton team would've been a national title contender with Pop Isaacs.
Like Kalk and Ashworth, he is a senior, so this is his last go around.

hopefully High Point can send Purdue home, up until the past couple seasons I've always been indifferent about them but the last couple of years Purdue fans have become obsessed with UConn

What happened with the water? I turned the game off.

Would love to see another first round disaster for Purdue.
Louisville HC got a tech. Crowd got angry and someone threw a full water bottle on the floor by the Creighton bench. Didn't hit anyone but it took several minutes to clean up all the water off the floor.

I'm being semi-serious. I took my kid once. I'm sure there are Creighton fans that are wonderful people but I've never interacted with one. I'll root for Marquette, Xavier and even Slick Rick the Ruler but Creighton is a bridge too far for me. Is that irrational? Maybe but it's sports.
Will root for all BUT Rick.
Call him what you want... but we could flat out use him on our team in a heartbeat right now. We don't have anyone playing on the wing who is close to as consistently dominant as he has been playing recently.

He is once again a man amongst boys out there. I don't like the showboating against us either... but I will take that guy on our team any day of the week.

He is the guy you loathe as an opponent while love having him when he is on your team.
Would love a guy to create his own shot off the dribble. Great player. Hurley needs exactly that next year.

Like Cam Spencer?

Neal is the worst person in the world, he dunked on UConn with a second left and apologized for it and complimented the UConn program.

What a despicable person and Creighton is the shadiest program in America. Don't even get me started on Greg McDermott.

Diarra was the one who took exception to Neal’s dunk. If he hadn’t I doubt most UConn fans or anyone else would have thought much about it at all. I didn’t think it was all that egregious frankly. Hassan was probably frustrated and felt the team backed off in the final seconds so the dunk was unnecessary & disrespectful by his view.

Creighton wins by double digits...pretty much in control the entire game. They looked good.
Presumably they will face Auburn in round 2...Auburn struggling a bit of late. Neutral fans
rooting for C reighton....who knows?

The irony here is the reason we got Neal is because you guys took Mahaney, who we were in on.

I’ll certainly be thinking about that Creighton ML on Saturday

Can’t upset a team in the tourney giving up 20+ second chance points.

Almost 20 offensive rebounds for Purdue.

Well Xavier and Creighton have done what they needed to do and already met expectations, anything else is just gravy. Time for UConn and Marquette to step it up. Anything less than a s16 will be a disappointment for st johns.

That team went 18-2 in the ACC?
That's how bad the ACC was.

Which tells you how bad San Diego State was.

I had McNeese State into the S16 until the Wade news. Now I'm going to be rooting for Purdue to get closer to completing the 1-16 loss bingo. They're four away, and they have the two hardest already done!

A little short on exciting games so far

Generally, the Thursday early slate is a little light on excitement. The NCAA usually only puts one high potential game in that slot. I expect that at least one of the second set will be OK.
